He watched her from his usual spot. Her gracefulness as she worked had him transfixed. Customer after customer came and went as she tended to them. Each one leaving with a smile.
Today she wore her hair up in a messy bun and no make-up. He could tell she wore no make-up thanks to the technology of the zoom lens on his camera. She didn't need make-up having natural beauty.
Her hair being up was her usual look, paired with the cafe's t-shirt, jeans and sneakers. She looked perfect, naturally. Most days when he watched her, he wondered what her natural scent smelled like. But mostly he wanted to know what made her laugh because her laugh was his swan song.
She was laughing now. Someone made her laugh. Who made her laugh? He looked to her right and there stood a guy with dark brown hair tucked behind his ears. He reached out and touched her arm. She pulled away slightly as if she didn't want to be touched but the guy didn't seem to notice. He kept talking to her until a Latin man from the kitchen called for her.
He watched as Mr. Casanova smirked and left with his friend in tow. He jerked his head toward where she had been standing and said something to his friend that made him laugh. Probably telling his friend how much she wanted him. I think I may have to teach him a lesson: don't touch what isn't his.
