KYLIE
Kylie woke to her head throbbing. Silence surrounded her.
Her eyes opened and closed. She turned her head from side to side. Why is the room so dark? And why was there a hammer hitting my head? There was no light anywhere. Why can't I see anything? Her heart rate sped up. Oh my god. Where am I?! Am I dreaming? She tried to move her arms only to find that they were restrained above her head. Her left arm was sore.
And she was naked.
Shit! Why am I naked? She moved her legs and felt dried crustiness on her inner thighs. Why do you think, Dummy? Oh my god! Shitshitshit!
Kylie started to panic. Was she a victim of one of those crime rings where the people kidnap women and sell them into slavery?
Or worse?
Is there a worse option? Oh my god! Have I been kidnapped? Shit! Of-course I have! Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God! I need to calm down. Think.
But her heart raced and her panic continued to grow as images of terrible events began crowding her mind. Calm down. Damn it! How did this happen? Shit! Have I been sold?! I need to calm down.
Stop. I need to go back to the last thing I remember.
Okay...work. I was at work, closing shift. As I was getting the napkins I needed to fill the holders, the bell above the door sounded, letting me know someone had walked in.
The stranger. The gorgeous stranger who claimed he had come for her. But then he left.
She had to calm Deke, the dishwasher, because he caught his girlfriend with her ex-boyfriend. Walking from her car. Jackie calling her about meeting up with her and Siena.
So, I made it home. I turned the shower on. But then what?
When she got undressed she started thinking about the stranger again.
That was it.
Get it together, Kylie. Think! You are not going to let yourself lose it. Be strong. You are going to figure this out.
Ok. Where am I? Feeling around herself, she knew she was lying down on her back, on a bed. Great. Seems like the perfect place to be right now, Kylie thought as she rolled her eyes.
Fuck! She didn't know where she was. She didn't know for how long. But judging by the dry fluids on her inner thighs, it hadn't been long since the person who took her...
Where the hell am I? Fuck! Why can't I see?! I need to get out of here! "Hello..." She mouthed the word but no sound came out.
Is this a bad dream? Breathe Kylie. Obviously you're on a bed. Just try to move again.
She couldn't though. Her arms were numb from the wrist restraints above her head that kept her in place. What is going on? Why is this happening? She tried moving her legs and found that they weren't restrained. But there she lay, in total darkness, unable to get up and go.
Was she dreaming? She had read about people who had dreams, horrible dreams, in which they died from falling out of a window or being chased by someone with a gun, being shot, and when they died in their dreams they died in real life. Is that what this was, a bad dream?
No, this wasn't a bad dream. It was a nightmare.
Using her legs, she started to move around as much as she could. The bed she was laying on was comfortable, soft, and plush. The blanket covering her weighed enough to keep her warm and not make her feel trapped.
