"No! No!" Meredith tried to fight the nurse
"Meredith, I need to clean the sheets" Nurse Ally said
"Caw-lyn" Meredith cried out
"Carolyn isn't here today" The nurse sighed
"M-ommy!" She yelled
"Meredith, I need you to calm down" Nurse Ally said and noticed she started wetting herself even more
"Caww-l-yn"
"I'll page Doctor Shepherd for you" Ally frowned and left the room
"Meredith, sweetie.. Why didn't you let nurse Ally help you?" Christopher asked
"C-Cawll" She sobbed, her speech barely understandable
"You wanted Carolyn?" He frowned
Meredith nodded her head "L-Laugh"
"No one's gonna laugh" Christopher smiled sadly
Meredith violently shook her head no
"Nurse Ally will clean you up while I page Arizona and we'll insert that catheter, what do you think?" Christopher suggested
Meredith shook her head no
"Meredith, we need to do something" Christopher sat down on her bed and Ally left the room for a minute
"No, home!" She started to cry more
"You can't go home yet.." Christopher sighed
Meredith grabbed her bear and held it close to her chest
"Can I show what we'll do to your bear?" Christopher asked
"Fwuffy" She mumbled
"Fwuffy?" Chrisopher asked
"F-lw-uffy" Meredith repeated and grabbed the bear closer
"Oh, he's called fluffy?"
Meredith nodded in agreement and weakly gave the bear to Christopher
Nurse Ally returned inside as they both explained that the catheter will make sure that Meredith wouldn't wet herself anymore
Meredith didn't feel comfortable and kept crying during the small procedure, Christopher eventually decided to page Arizona and quickly after, she entered the room
"Hey, sweetie.. what's up?" Arizona frowned
"We're gonna give her a catheter, she's been wetting herself again" Christopher sighed, he felt so bad for the little girl
"I'll help, I got this" She told Ally
"I just gave her a very light sedative, just to keep her from fighting back and so the catheter won't burn" Christopher told Arizona as he held Meredith into his arms as he felt her relaxing
"Here I go, Meredith. It will be over quickly" Arizona smiled at Meredith who's eyes were drooping
Once they finished the procedure, they left the room as the little girl was now sleeping. Christopher decided to go call Carolyn to keep his mind off from work for a bit
...
Meredith was sitting in her room, her head was throbbing as she was whispering things to her bear
"Meredith?" Ellis' voice was heard
"M-ommy?" Meredith looked up with a smile
Ellis took a seat in the corner of the room, not close to the bed at all
"Huwts" Meredith pointed at her head
Ellis didn't react. Was it because Meredith's speech was off? Was she angry, disappointed?
"Mommy, be-wd?"
"What do you want?" Ellis asked
"Uh.. mommy, me be-wd?" Meredith asked as she looked into her lap
"Meredith, I can't understand what you're asking for
"She's asking if you can join her in the bed" Carolyn said as she entered the room
Ellis felt caught and jumped up "I'm gonna visit another time, I have to go now"
Meredith looked sad and confused at her mother and wanted to wave goodbye but before she got the chance to lift her hand, Ellis had walked out of the door
"She's busy" Carolyn faked a smile
Meredith just kept quiet and turned her back towards the door
"Hey, don't shut me out.." Carolyn sighed "I heard you have a catheter now and that you were asking for me?"
Meredith slowly nodded without turning around
"Is it okay if I sit with you for a bit?" Carolyn asked and Meredith nodded again
Carolyn took a seat on the chair next to the bed. Meredith turned around and patted the bed
"Are you sure that I can climb in with you?" Carolyn asked
Meredith smiled at the woman and cuddled closer
Carolyn pulled Meredith in for a hug and stayed that way until Meredith fell asleep
Carolyn wanted to get out of Meredith bed when she felt the little girl's hand holding her back "no" Meredith whispered
Carolyn laughed a bit and crawled back into the bed, holding the little girl close
Meanwhile in another room, Ellis and Richard were having a fight
"You should look after your daughter!" Richard yelled
"You don't have to tell me what I should do!" Ellis Yelled
"Your daughter might die in a hospital room! Her tumor is so big that she needs a catheter, you didn't even try to understand!"
"You can't talk about how I raise my daughter!" Ellis yelled back
"You didn't raise her! The nannies did, your babysitters did, damn, even the nurses raised her! Not you!" Richard snapped
"I'm not doing this just because you're scared of leaving your wife! We could have had it all and you're throwing it away. I'm done, I'm moving" Ellis said and packed her stuff
"What about Meredith?" Richard frowned
"Don't worry, I'll pay her bills and I'll pay her funeral"
"You can't do that to her, Ellis! You can't walk out of her life like that!"
"No? Watch me doing it" Ellis said and walked out of the room
