"No mom!" Meredith yelled
"Meredith, come on!" Ellis screamed back "I don't need you to skip classes, you need to be extraordinary!" Ellis yelled
"God, you are impossible! All I'm asking is to call me sick!" Meredith yelled
"You aren't sick!" Ellis yelled back
"I am tired, I feel feverish and I don't wanna get out of the house!" Meredith tried to reason with her mother
"Meredith, stop!" Ellis yelled and walked out of the house
Meredith decided to dress herself up in one of her black leggings and one of Derek's sweatshirts
She then grabbed her bag and started her daily walk to the Shepherd's house
"Hi Mer!" Amelia, Mark and Derek yelled as she entered their kitchen
"Hi" She said and quickly kissed Derek before taking a seat next to Amelia
"Morning dear" Carlolyn smiled as she saw Meredith sitting in the kitchen
"Morning Carolyn" Meredith smiled
"Meredith, are you okay? You look so pale" Carolyn pointed out
"I didn't feel very good but Ellis said I had to go to school" Meredith sighed
"Here, maybe this will help" Carolyn put a plate of breakfast in front of Meredith
"I'm really not hungry" Meredith softly smiled
"Give it to me then!" Amelia laughed
"Or me!" Mark started to argue with Amelia
Meredith had to giggle in response and laid her head on Derek's shoulder
"Are you feeling okay?" Derek asked
"I just need a few hours of sleep" Meredith sighed "I barely slept this week"
"Mer, you need to sleep" Derek looked into her eyes
"I know, Derek. I know" Meredith said
"Come on, let's get ready" Derek stood up and grabbed her hand
"Meredith, here" Carolyn gave her a lunchbox
"Thanks Carolyn" Meredith smiled
Carolyn had done way more in the past years than Ellis had ever done for her in her whole life
"Come here" Carolyn pulled Meredith into a hug
"Why don't you come over after school?" Carolyn offered
"Thank you Carolyn. I would love that" Meredith smiled
"Mer! Are you coming?" Amy yelled from outside
"Come on, Mer" Derek laughed and playfully grabbed her arm
The four of them made their way to school and went to their usual seats somewhere in the middle of the class, next to each other
During the class, Meredith's attention started to disappear and she rested her head on her arm but apparently fell asleep
"Mer!" Amelia giggled
"What?" She shook awake
"You fell asleep" Mark laughed
"Guys!" Their teacher yelled
"Urgh, I wanna get outta here" Meredith rolled her eyes
"Don't we all?" Amelia laughed
"Then why don't we just skip?" Meredith winked
"Mom will kill us" Derek sighed
"Derek.." Meredith whined
"Come on, let's be quiet" Derek laughed

A couple of hours later, Meredith and Derek had a spare hour and were sitting outside on the grassfield
"I love you" Derek whispered
"I love you too" Meredith kissed his cheek
"I still remember how you used to call me Dewek" He smiled
"You can't joke about that!" Meredith laughed
"I'm not joking, just saying I still remember it" Derek kissed her forehead
"I don't wanna remember any of it" Meredith quietly admitted
"Are you scared sometimes?" Derek asked her
"You never talked about that again" Meredith pointed out
"I know.. but.. sometimes I get scared when you complain about a headache.." Derek quietly admitted
"I'm scared too" She quietly agreed
"I'm so happy you joined our family" Derek grabbed her hand
"Me too. Thank you for wanting me" She laughed quietly
"I'll always want you" Derek kissed Meredith's cheek
"Always?" Meredith laughed
"Until we're 110. I wanna have a family with you, Mer.." Derek told her
"I wanna have a family with you but Derek.. I can't guarantee you a nice future. I'm messed up!" Meredith's voice cracked
"You aren't messed up!" Derek said sternly and pulled Meredith into his arms "I love you so so much"
"I love you Derek.." Meredith sobbed
"Now let's go to class before we're late" Derek handed her a tissue and pulled her to her feet. He wrapped his arm around her waist and she rested her head on his shoulder
Their day continued with the usual stuff and finally seemed to get nicer once they arrived at the Shepherd's house
"How was school?" Carolyn asked as she took a seat on the couch where everyone was sitting
"Boring.. so boring" Mark sighedd
"I don't wanna go to school tomorrow" Meredith complained as she laid down in Derek's lap
"I wish we could skip school" Amelia laughed
"We should go.." Derek sighed and brushed his fingers through Meredith's hair
"Meredith, are you staying for dinner?" Christopher asked
"Can I?" Meredith asked sheepishly
"Of course. Do you wanna stay the night too?"
"If that's okay for all of you" Meredith smiled
"Of course, dear" Carolyn smiled as she peaked into the room
