"Mom, can we finally go see Meredith?" Amelia whined

"Amelia, we still have to get your siblings from school" Carolyn said and felt bad. It's been 5 days since thanksgiving and 4 days since her last chemo. She finally stopped vomiting yesterday and was finally awake for more than half an hour a time

"Can't we go all together?" Amelia begged

"I don't know Amelia. I still have to make lunch" Carolyn sighed

"Can't we have lunch at the hospital with Meredith?" She proposed

"You're right. That sounds like a great idea" Carolyn gave in and picked up the other kids before driving to the hospital. In the meantime, Christopher had wheeled Meredith to the cafeteria and was waiting there with Meredith sleeping on his lap

"Hey" Carolyn smiled and kissed her husband as she saw them

"Daddy!" The kids embraced them

"Mer, look who's here" Christopher gently woke her up

Meredith's eyes fluttered open as she looked at the kids

"H-i" She whispered

"Hi! It's been soooo long since I saw you!" Amelia smiled "We're gonna have lunch together!"

Meredith smiled widely

Carolyn and the older kids went to grab everyone's food while Christopher was settling Meredith on a chair next to Amelia before helping out his wife

"M-miss-e y-you" Meredith grabbed Amelia's hand weakly

"I missed you too! You're my best friend in the whole wild world!" Amelia told Meredith and hugged her

"We're back!" Carolyn smiled and placed the trays on the table and started serving them out "I grabbed your some mashed potatoes with spinach, is that okay?"

Meredith nodded and smiled at Carolyn before taking a wheezy breath

"Her oxygen is okay, right?" She asked Christopher as she checked it out

Meredith started eating with the others. It was very obvious that this task was wearing her out but Carolyn knew how much the little girl hated it to get help with eating

"Mom, could you bring me to gymnastics tomorrow?" Lizzy asked Carolyn

"Mommy?" Amelia asked with a tiny voice as she saw how Meredith started to zone out

The little girl slipped off the chair before either Carolyn or Christopher could catch her as her seizure started

"Mommy?! Meredith!" Amelia started screaming

Derek pulled Amelia away and in his arms while Kathleen went to her parents

"Come one, you don't have to see that" Nancy said to the younger kids and took them with her to the other side of the room

"She's okay. Take your sibling and go to my office. We'll see you there" Christopher told Kathleen "And someone page Dr Robbins and Dr Nelson for me" Christopher ordered

That's when Meredith was responsive again but complained about her neck and back with a slurred speech

"What happened?" Arizona asked as she ran in

"She got a seizure and fell from her chair. I want scans, both head and spine, stat!" Christopher yelled

Carolyn went up to her husband's office and entered it to calm down the kids

"Meredith will be fine. She had a seizure and i know it's scary to see but I promise you, it's okay" Carolyn whispered as she sat down on the carpet with the kids

"But why does she have those?" Amelia frowned

"Well the tumor is in her brain and it's pushing on some important parts and when that happens, she gets a seizure"

"It's not fair that Meredith's sick!" Amelia screamed and started sobbing

Carolyn took Amelia in her arms and checked on the other kids how they were doing

"It was scary" Lizzy admitted and Derek nodded in response

"I wish I was the best brain doctor so I could help her" Derek whispered

Carolyn pulled in all the kids for a hug. Once they calmed down she tried to keep them busy

They got disturbed by nurse Ally

"Carolyn? They need you in Dr Nelson's office. I can watch the kids" Ally said

Carolyn tried to hide her fear and quickly ran up to Dr Nelson's office

"What's wrong?" Carolyn asked as she entered the room

She saw Arizona sitter there with blood red eyes, she clearly has been crying while her husband's head was resting in his hands as Nelson looked upset

"What's wrong?" She repeated her question

"Meredith's scans.. they don't look good" Christopher sighed

AN // I started uni and I've been kinda overwhelmed today so I start for real on monday so I'll try to get some updates our this weekend but I can't promise anything for next week!
