Darby's POV-

It's been a few days since Double or Nothing. I had still been feeling the effects from the match, especially from where Ethan threw me against the steel barricade. For the most part, I was able to ignore the pain and had been keeping myself busy to keep my mind off of it.

I was downstairs in the kitchen and decided out on a whim to make cookies, but I wanted to make them from scratch. Getting everything out, I started mentally planning for what I needed to do but stopped when I heard Hayleigh come in.

"Hey baby," She walks past me and goes to the fridge, grabbing one of her fruit drinks. "What are you making?"

"Cookies," I replied, looking over the ingredients I had set out.

"Alright Gordon Ramsey," She smiles, placing one hand on her hip as she nods to the countertop. "What kinda gourmet recipe are you using?"

I smirked and shook my head. "It's nothing really fancy. I just think they taste better if it's homemade."

"I keep forgetting you went to culinary school." Hayleigh came over and stood beside me.

"Well, technically, I'm a culinary dropout."

"Brandi says it still counts and if she says it does, then it does." Hayleigh grins, taking a sip of her drink.

"Yeah," I chuckled a bit. "We'll go with that."

"Do you want me to help you or you wanna do this on your own?"

"You can help if you want." I smiled at her while leaning against the counter.

"Okay, but no food fights," Hayleigh warns and giggled.

"No promises." I grin.

Hayleigh and I begin to get everything together. While she put all the ingredients together, I got out the baking tray and prepped it, and preheated the oven. Now back over with Hayleigh, I watched her stir the bowl until everything had been mixed well enough. We put the cookies on the tray and I put them in the oven and set the timer.

"Alright, we have about fifteen to twenty minutes,"  I tell Hayleigh while leaning back against the island counter as she stood at the sink washing the dishes we had left in there from earlier.

"Okay, give me a couple of minutes and we can go put on a movie or whatever you wanna watch."

"Alright," I reply, crossing my arms as I looked beside me to see the mixing bowl was still sitting out.

Noticing there was still a little bit of cookie dough in the bowl, I looked at Hayleigh and got an idea about how to mess with her. Grabbing the bowl, I got some of the cookie dough on my finger before walking over to Hayleigh.

"Hey baby, you got a little something on your face."

"Where?" She turned her head to look at me.

As soon as she turned her head, I swiped the cookie dough across her cheek and started laughing as her mouth dropped.

"Darby! Allin!" Hayleigh tried to sound mad but started giggling.

She flicked some water at me before turning the sink off. I grabbed some paper towels and wiped the cookie dough off of her cheek.

  "I hate you!" She giggled.

"Like you ever could." I chuckle.

"You're lucky you're cute." She stuck her tongue out at me.

"You're the only person who thinks that." I roll my eyes playfully, tossing the paper towels in the trash.

Hayleigh smacked me on the arm. "Stop talking about yourself like that!"
