Darby's POV-
Sitting down in the kitchen, I waited on the coffee pot to fill up as Hayleigh's still upstairs asleep. I couldn't stop thinking about what Rhea told me yesterday. It's all that ran through my head. I couldn't bring it up to Hayleigh because I didn't want to risk making her feel any worse.
I broke free from my thoughts as I felt my phone buzz in my pocket. Taking it out I saw Rhea telling me she'd be here in about 30 minutes.
I stayed up late last night texting Tay and Eddie because Hayleigh hasn't been answering her phone and they had started texting me freaking out about her. Without telling them too much, I let them know that she was okay now. Taking a glance over all the text I went to put my phone back in my pocket before Sammy started calling.
"Yo," I answer.
"Hey, how's everything going?" He asked.
"You want the honest answer or the sugar-coated?"
"Darby...is Hayleigh okay?" He asks sincerely.
"Not really...I'm worried about her." I replied, looking out the window as I leaned against the counter.
"She hasn't been answering anyone's calls or texts."
"I know. I stayed up last night talking with Tay and Eddie about it."
"Eddie's really worried about her. You know he takes mental health seriously."
"I know, I know. He kept trying to ask a lot about her, but I just wasn't comfortable telling him a lot last night."
"How are you feeling?" Sammy asked.
"I don't really know..."
"Do you need me to come down?"
"Rhea's already on her way here," I reply.
"Hopefully she'll help get Hayleigh back on track." Sammy started. "Well, if you need anything just call me."
"I will."
"And give Hayleigh a big hug for me."
"Okay," I grin slightly.
"Later Darbs."
"Later Guevara."
Getting off the phone with him, I made myself a cup of coffee before sitting at the kitchen island. I started to think about different things I could get Hayleigh to do with me so that I could get her out of bed and out of her own head. I hated seeing her like this and I understood how she felt to a certain point. I always kept myself busy because I knew if I didn't, my own depression would kick my ass.
"Darby?" Hayleigh walks in, rubbing her eyes.
"Hey baby," I smiled looking up at her before pulling the seat out beside me, motioning for her to come join me.
Hayleigh came over and sat beside me, letting out a small yawn. Leaning over, I kiss her cheek.
"How are you feeling?"
"Better." She smiles softly.
"You want some coffee?"
"Yes please."
Getting up, I made Hayleigh a cup of coffee while she sat at the island. Looking back at her, I watched as she leaned against the countertop, resting her head in her hand. Gently sliding the cup in front of her, I stood behind her and wrapped my arms around her waist. Hayleigh smiles, leaning back into me. Holding her a bit tighter, I lightly kiss her cheek a few more times.
