Hayleigh's POV-

Darby and I were back home and all I could think about was what happened at Dynamite. Not just the Ethan and Scorpio thing, but the "fight" between Dad and Darby. I tried to just brush it off but I would be lying if I said I wasn't bothered by it. I couldn't quite understand why Dad got upset with Darby, but at the same time, I didn't exactly agree with Darby yelling at him. I mean, I could understand that Darby was upset, but... I was just having conflicting feelings about the whole situation.

Standing out on the back porch, I leaned against the railing and looked out at the yard to just try and clear my head. Closing my eyes, I took a few deep breaths before I felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist. I smiled as Darby pressed his chest against my back and kissed my cheek.

"Hey baby," He whispered, now holding me.

"Hey."

"What are you doing out here?" Darby asked, kissing my cheek again.

"Just thinking," I replied, leaning my head back on his shoulder.

"About?"

"Nothing important." I try to brush it off.

"Come on," Darby rubs my arms. "you can tell me if somethings bothering you."

"It's just..." I let out a sigh. "I've been thinking about what happened at Dynamite last week."

"What about it?"

"I don't want you to be mad..." I try to cut the conversation short.

"Hayleigh," Darby turns me around and looks me in the eyes. "What's bothering you?"

"That's the thing...I'm not really sure. I'm having conflicting feelings about what happened."

"Did I do anything to make you mad?" Darby raised a brow.

"You didn't make me mad." I shook my head. "But, I didn't exactly agree with you yelling at Dad..."

"I was defending you." Darby furrows his brows.

"I know that, and baby, I appreciate it more than you know." I reach over and held his hands. "I'm not thrilled with how Dad went off on you either. That's why I said I'm having conflicting feelings."

"Well...just know what I did, was for you. I went off for you. Sting didn't want to do anything about it, which is what I can't understand. If anyone, I would assume he would be the one to be pissed."

"I know." I nod. "It doesn't sit right with me either, trust me. But I don't want what happened to put a grudge between you two."

 "That's kinda hard right now."

"And I understand that. I'm hoping that both of you can cool off by next week and we can all be okay again. I don't want one little argument to blow us up."

Darby looked away from me, letting go of my hands. "Have you talked to him yet?"

"No," I shook my head.

"Okay." He now leans against the porch railing.

"Are you mad at me?"

Darby shook his head, not saying a word.

"Okay..." I reply, feeling otherwise. "I love you."  I kiss his cheek before going back into the house.

This was something I never wanted to happen. I didn't think it was that serious, but apparently, it was. Before I could think too much about it, my phone pinged. Taking it out of my pocket, I saw I had a text from Tay.
