Darby's POV-

Sammy and I are in the airport waiting on our flights. As we sat in the airport lobby, Sammy began rambling about something. Honestly, I had stopped listening as soon as he began talking. It's nothing against him, I just still had a lot on my mind and I spaced out.

"Helloooooo!" Sammy waves his hand in front of my face and snaps a couple of times. "Earth to Darby!"

"Sorry," I blinked a few times.

"Did you even hear any of what I just said?"

"Nope." I shook my head.

Sammy rolls his eyes. "You suck, you know that?"

"You'll get over it."

Letting out a small huff, Sammy crossed his arms, leaning back into his seat. Ignoring him, I took out my phone, checking the time again. It's nearly three in the morning. I wanted to talk to Hayleigh so bad, but at the same time, I didn't want to call her and wake her up. I know we've only been apart for a day and I just face-timed her roughly four-ish hours ago, but it feels so much longer than that.

I've just grown so accustomed to always having her with me. Especially on nights like this where we'd have to stay up late, we'd talk about anything and everything that we could think of. Honestly, I just missed being able to hold her hand. Listen to me, I'm talking as if we haven't been around each other in weeks. It's ridiculous how much I'm missing her...but I couldn't help it. The feeling was strange and I didn't like it. I knew she's okay and I knew that we wouldn't be apart for long, but there's a part of me that couldn't stand being away from her.

"Dude, are you really calling her now?" Sammy asked, glancing down at my phone.

I looked down to see that I had dialed her. I must have subconsciously done it because I didn't realize I had even hit the button.

"Shut it, Guevara." I glared at him before Hayleigh answered.

"Darby? Is everything okay?" She asked sleepily.

"Yeah, I'm sorry if I woke you up."

"No, no," Hayleigh starts, sitting up as she runs her free hand through her hair. "I told you to call me if you needed to."

"I just really missed you. " I whispered loud enough for her to hear.

"Aww!" Sammy smiles as he leans over my shoulder. "Darby's needy!"

I glared at him before swatting him away while Hayleigh giggled softly.

"Are you at the airport?" Hayleigh yawns.

"Mhm. We're just waiting for our flights to be called, so hopefully, I'll be there soon."

"Have you been to sleep at all?" Hayleigh asked.

"I can't." I shook my head.

"Yeah cause he's too busy missing his girlfriend!" Sammy teased.

I smacked the back of his head as he shouts and leans the other way. "Okay, okay, I'll shut up!"

"About time." I rolled my eyes.

"Now you two better behave before they kick you out." Hayleigh grins.

"Yeah, tell him that!" Sammy nods towards me.

"Yo, you open your mouth one more time I'm gonna kick your ass!" I glared at him.

Sammy stuck his tongue out before getting on his phone.

"Well, I can see it now, you're gonna keep this shit up, so-" I looked back at Hayleigh. "I'll see you in a few hours."

"Okay." She giggles. "Be nice. That goes for you too Sammy!"
