~Elise P.O.V~

I could hear every drop of rain as I trained in my backyard. Since I turned 18 my father had given me the log cabin in the middle of nowhere so I could be by myself. Occasionally I would have to go to the pack house and help him make decisions and learn about what he does as I was his only child, my mother left us when I was one I don't remember anything about her. All I have of her is the necklace I wear everywhere, father told me not to take it off and I do just that. It was hard to tell where the rain ended and the sweat began on my body as I kept practicing my punches and techniques. My ears twitched as I heard the doorbell rang.

"Coming." I quickly grabbed a towel from the back porch as I went to the front door. My best friend Effie walked through and sat on the couch.

"I came here to make sure you weren't late again." She smirked while I shook my hair trying to get all the rain off. "You know one day someone is going to think that those ears of yours aren't just for show and are actually real."

"That may be so but for now I can let as much of me show as I can." I grab my bag and we rush out to her car after all if we were late to school again the principal threatened to suspend us. As we pulled into the schools car park, kids began to swarm around Walters's car. "We should be in that car!" My wolf whined at me, I shoot a death glare towards him and his 'possie'.

"Elise we're here... You can get out of the car now."

"Oh right..." As we got closer to the door, and Walter, my heart quickened. It had only been a week since we split up, even though he was my mate I was able to hide that from him, he didn't know and for that I was thankful. He smiled and waved at me while smirking, in some ways I ached to be with him but after being on and off again ever since primary school, I can only take so much. He turned back to the latest girl who had gotten his attention, she was rubbing his arm while giggling at whatever it was he said. I wanted to flatten my ears and snarl do anything but instead I just continued to walk.

"Yo!" shouted my friends  waiting for us at our lockers, Effie ran up to her boyfriend and well they were more using the lockers as a wall. The bell went off for first class and my ear twitched slightly at the noise.

"I swear those ears just get more real every time I see you wear them Elise." Erik says as he pats my head. I huffed as we all started walking to class, we all start off with the same subject and then go our different ways only problem is I have every subject but electives with Walter. It's hard to try and let someone go when every step you make is a memory, or you're forced to sit next to him for five out of the seven days of the week. I go to sit in my seat but notice it's filled by a couple groping each other. I shudder at the disgusting slurps I can hear coming off from one another.

"Get out of my seat!" I growl at the two melded bodies.

"Oh hi Elise, sorry to be a bother." Walter smirked at me as the slut continues to paw at him.

"You can keep the seat you make me sick." I quickly turned around and ground my teeth and the noise of high pitched giggles and squeals as they continued doing god knows what. A few hours later and finally it was time for lunch. I had my bag packed with so much food majority of my friends always wondered how I fit my school books in there too. "Oh chocolate you'll never leave me." I say as I kiss my Kit Kat bar and then scoff it down quickly.

"Seriously Lise what ever will we do with you?" Erik smirks as he slings his arm around my shoulder and drags me towards where P.E will be so we are there on time. The teacher for P.E is a boss, majority of the girls are always trying to get with him by pulling shirts lower and skirts up higher. We always get a choice to do one of three things we can play soccer, study, or basketball. Unfortunately for me I may have made a bet with Erik and Effie to go on my own team in soccer and win, the downside I would have to be their slave for a week upside they would dress up as drag queens for the rest of the term.

"You up for this?" Effie sniggers at me while giving a hi5 to Erik.

"Oh it is so on but you are asking teach." Erik had a sickly sweet smile upon his face as he winked at me and walked over to the P.E teacher he waved to get his attention, I was shocked I don't remember seeing them being so friendly, and that's when it hits me. I am so screwed. Doomed to utter damnation by these morons. "We can do it Elise!" Belle yipped at me, she was at the ready to give me whatever nudges I need to win. My wolf was super competitive and hate to lose, as I found out when I was losing a game of chess with dad. Long story short she took control making my teeth elongate and my ears pop out of the top of my head dad was so shocked in the end I won, and now the wolf ears just stay put. "Earth to Elise teacher at twelve a clock." My hands started to sweat immensely as the whole class started gathering on the oval.

"Alright class listen up! Today is something different, I know we normally would have an option but today we are going to go against each other in soccer. One against one, this is to test both your fitness as well as the ability to keep a calm head under stressful situations." The class was filled with both groans and testosterone filled grunts. "Alright kids first up is the best of the best Walter against the young and promising Elise!!"

"Thanks teach." I rolled my eyes as I walked into the field. I waited as Walter took his time saying how easy it was going to be and how he would 'teach me a lesson' whatever that meant.

"Alright now kids the rules are simple first to three goals win."

"Also Elise make sure not to somehow injure my best soccer player"

"I make no promises Teach!"  The whistle blue and we both shot forward, he got to the ball first and made kissy faces at me while I was still running, allowing me to steal the ball and kick his ankle a little. I laughed loudly as I was closing in on the goal. I made the shot easy he was to distract by the fact I got the ball to even get to the goal in time. Walking back to my side he got to start with the ball this time it took five minutes and a lot of back and forth and I finally got the second goal. My plan to play safe was working so far. Since Walter scored his first goal I started with the ball, while he was walking towards me with the ball he leaned towards me.

"You know Elise, I just don't understand why you even wear that thing, it's cheap and your mother obviously didn't love you enough to stick around." With that he ripped off my necklace and threw it away. Everything started to fade away I heard a scream somewhere off in the distance only to notice that it was mine. I could hear Walter snigger and laugh as teach started to get the other students to go start their own games. My eyes zeroed in on Walter. "Oh come on Elise all this over a little old necklace?" I walked towards the ball and kicked it aiming for his chest it hit him square on and knocked him into the goal.

"It's not enough. Make him pay!"

"Belle is that you?" I gave up trying to separate all the voices assailing my mind as my feet seemed to walk towards him on their own.

"Hu! come back for some more babe?" my hands reached down around his neck as I lifted him up.

"I reject you by the way." I moved forward and went to his neck kissing slowly, he went slightly limp in my hands as I went to bite his lower lip. I dropped him on the ground and stared at my hands they were glowing. The grass around me was all dried and dead, my body began to thrum so much I felt like I was about to explode. My head fell to the floor before I could realize. I felt something cold being placed around my neck before I was lifted off the ground then everything went black.
