The Fast and the Curious (TaeKook)

First Encounter

Seoul, Korea
Jeon's Residence

"Jungkook! Wake up. It's 10:30, you're late for work again." Jungkook's mom, Jeon Ara, shouted while banging on his son's bedroom door.

Hearing the time, Jungkook immediately springs up from his bed as he's supposed to be at work by 11.

"I'm awake now, Eomma!" he shouts back and runs to the bathroom to take a quick shower. Minutes later, he rushes to his closet and grabs a black shirt and ripped jeans.

He runs down the stairs to the kitchen, grabs a toast, gives his mom a quick peck on the check, wears his timberland and runs out the door. 

It's a good thing that the auto repair shop he works at is only 5 mins away from his house so he gets there at exactly 11 am.

"Well, look who BARELY arrived on time today?" says Min Yoongi, Jungkook's boss-turned-friend.

"Morning, Yoongi hyung," a panting Jungkook said as he walks to the small fridge to get a bottled water.

As he was walking back to Yoongi, a dark purple car came into his peripheral vision. He turns his head and gasped. He walks over to the car to take a closer look.

"Woah, hyung! Whose Dodge is this?" Jungkook yelled to his boss while admiring the beauty in front of him.

"Some dude brought it here to have the engine cleaned." Yoongi said.

Jungkook opened the door on the driver's side, bent down and popped the hood of the car. When he sees the engine, his jaw dropped.

"Hyung, this 6.2L engine is dope! And it has NOS too. So, I'm guessing this ain't for collection, huh?"

"Looks like it. Though the owner said that it hasn't been used for racing for the past five months."

"Would you know why?"

"Beats me. You know I'm not one to pry when it comes to our clients. The lesser we know, the better."

Yoongi is a former street racer, car mechanic and a tech expert. His shop, which he named Magic Shop, is a go-to garage for underground street racers.  He makes sure that they service them legally though as he doesn't like it when police visits them for questioning.

Meanwhile, Jungkook, is Yoongi's best car mechanic, specializing in modifying cars for whatever purpose it may serve. All the parts they sell and install are legally imported.  When customers come in with their own "upgrades". They just do the job with no questions asked.

At first, Jungkook was never into racing. However, around 8 months ago, when his father passed away of pancreatic cancer, he needed an outlet to get over the overwhelming grief he felt. That's when he decided to dabble into street racing.

"So, when is the owner coming back for the car?" Jungkook asked.

"He's parking it here for now.  He had to leave the country for business."  Yoongi said.

"Damn, such a waste of engine. I bet this baby can be put to good use in a race."

"Well, it stays in this garage until the owner gets back."

"I bet I can drive this car and win every race."

"Kook, you haven't lost a race since you started. You and your Supra are doing just fine."
