I AM BACK! And I am updating that little series, um, yeah. So, I am actually doing way much better, I got a 92 on my bio exam, so yeah. Enjoy!

Gray kicked a pebble, pointedly looking down at the ground as he walked. He knew that if he didn't look down, he would surely be reminded of Sting and Natsu. He knew he only had himself to blame for not getting with Natsu sooner.

He had his chance, and he fucking blew it. When Gray first found out, he believed that Natsu deserved better, and he questioned how Natsu could stand to be in a relationship with the blonde.

<strike>What did the blonde have that he didn't?</strike>

Did the pinkette have amnesia? He remembered bitterly thinking with clenched teeth as he sulked, did he forget everything Sting and his stupid guild had done?

Then again, Sting had never betrayed his people, nor had he betrayed Natsu. So, Sting was already better than Gray.

Not only that, Sting was another dragon slayer, he could relate to Natsu in a way that Gray never would be able to. Sting had been raised by a dragon too, though, Sting had killed his. Gray was only mostly sure about the last part.

That train of thought had led to Gray, once in a better state, remembering just how good Natsu is. After all the shit Gray had done to Natsu when they were just kids, Natsu still didn't let him sacrifice himself. Natsu still loved him, after all of the shit Gray had put him through.

If this was any other person, Gray would be able to tell himself that Natsu didn't truly love him and that it was just a stupid crush, that's why the pinkette was able to move on so fast. But, Gray knew better, unfortunately for him.

The ice mage knew Natsu didn't throw the word 'love' around. Natsu had such a big heart, and such a lovely smile, one that warmed even the coldest of hearts. Natsu loved, not just romantically, so many. The pinkette cared so much about so many people, even after they hurt him.

No matter how many times Gray hurt the pinkette, Natsu was still always there for him. No matter how many times the people around him mocked him, and teased him, Natsu stuck around and was there for them however he could.

Stepping into his house, Gray sighed, and leaned back against the, now shut, door. Sinking down, and placing his head into his hands.

He was such a fucking idiot.

After hours of thinking, and spiraling, Gray had a realization. He could never be Natsu's lover, but maybe, just maybe, Natsu would allow him to be his friend.

Gray didn't deserve to be the pinkette's friend, he knew that. Gray also knew that he didn't even deserve to have him as a teammate.

Gray didn't deserve Natsu at all.

All of those things had been acknowledged by Gray, and no matter how much the ice mage wanted to deny and to believe otherwise, he knew he couldn't. He couldn't even make the effort into trying to prove otherwise.

That and because even if Gray wanted to prove otherwise, he has zero evidence. He hasn't exactly been good to the pinkette.

Shaking his head, Gray got out of bed, he was going to make things right. Even if Natsu no longer wanted to be friends, Gray could still right his wrongs. Gray could still try.

After his routine, and getting dressed, Gray placed his hand on his door handle, mentally debating whether or not he even should go to the guild.

Removing his hand from the doorknob, he walked back into his apartment. He had been putting off cleaning for far too long, so really, he wasn't avoiding the guild, he was taking care of important things first.

Natsu stretched as he waited for the food in the oven to finish cooking. Despite doing everything in his power to keep his mind off of a certain ice mage, his mind just continued to wander back to him.
