Hello! I am back! This time doing much better than I have been! I have an A in statistics, which I am very happy about! It feels like forever since I have updated! And for that, I am sorry! GOOD NEWS THOUGH! Summer break is approaching, and I probably won't take a class over the summer!

Gray smiled down at his pink-haired lover, oh, how he adored his pinkette. Sighing, he carefully adjusted how he was laying in bed. Now propped up on one elbow, still watching his lover sleep.

One hand came up to brush against his cheek, lightly swiping some hair out of Natsu's face. Natsu was many things.

He was brave. He was compassionate, strong, sexy, intelligent sometimes, obsessive occasionally, a ball of sunshine. To him, Natsu was grand.

Gray remembered his life before Natsu, so dull, bland, and cold. Gray would never forget how cold it was. This wasn't the cold that a fresh, winter breeze brought. This was a cold that sunk deeper than his bones, to his very soul. It was an inescapable freeze, that clawed at Gray's insides.

Gray was in an eternal state of freezing, before Natsu. And, at a time, he had thought he always would be. From the ice crafted around his broken heart, broken soul, and to the ice barriers he built around himself. Cold enough to keep anyone from getting too close.

Other kids were met with an icy glare when they got too close. Gray couldn't let people get close, he didn't want them to die.

It was better this way, Gray would attempt to console himself. Wiping cold tears off of his face, he didn't need warmth. He was fine freezing in solitude.

Then came Natsu. Natsu was dangerous, Gray remembered thinking. He remembers the searching look in Natsu's eyes. But, one thing Gray wouldn't forget, is the haunted look in the pinkette's eyes.

Gray could never understand, how someone with that look in their eyes, could smile and laugh.

Gray remembered thinking what happened to Natsu wasn't so bad, he had just been left by his father figure. He didn't watch his family die, he didn't suffer that bad. Gray swallowed roughly, pressing a light kiss to Natsu's forehead.

Gray will never forget the way Natsu almost shut down, at the mention of his real parents. Nor will he forget the way he near broke down after barely making it out of a burning, collapsing, house.

"That was close," Gray panted, looking to the burning, now collapsed, building. Hearing nothing from his friend, he turned, "Natsu? Hey, what's wrong?!"

Racing over to the pinkette, who was breathing short, fast breaths. Eyes wide and unfocused, still hunched over.

"Hey, calm down!" Gray yelled, frustrated at not knowing what to do. He'd never seen his friend act like this, "Natsu?"

A wail ripped from Natsu, as he fell to the ground, burying his face in his hands.

Gray blinked back matching tears, and he gently hugged Natsu. For lack of knowing what else to do. He could faintly hear incoherent muttering, only able to make out, "I never wanted this."

Gray decided to not question what he meant. Noticing his friend was still hyperventilating, "Hey, uh, deep breaths. Slow, deep breaths." Breathing deep and slow, hoping that would help slightly.

He could have nearly cried out of relief when Natsu began to somewhat listen to him.

Once Natsu had somewhat calmed down, "Are you okay? What was that?" Gray asked, gently pulling away from the young, pre-teen.

Blinking down at trembling hands, before looking back up. Eyes still glassy, and wide, "I- I don't know?" Panic laced in his words, "I just freaked out. I don't know why this keeps happening..."
