Aedan's POVI rest my head against the seat of the taxi I rode in. My eyes were closed, and my arms were folded against my chest. I may look as if I'm asleep, but truth be told I'm deep in thought. My mom decided to send me to the famous Occult Academy for Benders on the upper-class side of town. I don't know how she managed to get me in here, considering we were not financially stable, and the school was very expensive, but she made it happen. I asked her multiple times how she did it and she would tell me not to worry about it. She wanted me to go to a school where everyone was like me, and I wouldn't be labeled as 'different'. The school help its students learn to control their powers and get them to their maximum strengths. They are well known for the powerful benders that graduated from there and went off to do good in the world. My mom wanted nothing but the best for me since it was only her and I now. I open my eyes and gaze out the window. Big houses were seen in the far distant of the road we traveled. They all had big gates securing them and a pathway that stretch from the beginning of the gates to the front of the house. Water Fountains were seated in front of a few of them. The grass was very green and trimmed to perfection. Cherry Blossom trees decorated a couple lawns and others had just nicely clean-cut grass. This side of town was very rich indeed.
The taxi came to a screeching halt in front of a metal security gate. It covered the entire front aera of the academy. I watch as the driver enter in a code on the keypad built onto it. The gates open slowly and the taxi strolls in. Nicely green cut grass could be seen in the outskirts of the field. A couple of full trees decorated parts of the front yard. Tall light posts rests along the pathway of the school. The school was set in the back field. You can see the embedded name of it centered in the top of it reading 'Occult Academy' in bold red letters. It sat tall in the air like a skyscraper and was as wide as a baseball field. It held a square shape for the most part. Windows were displayed in the many rooms of it. It was huge! The red and black colors of it just made it all so appealing. The black coated most of the walls of it and the red outlined the trimmings and the window panels. We circle the large water fountain set in the middle of the passaged way. It was a metal statue of a triangle with the four elements engraved on it. Water sprouts from the tip of it down into the wider half below. The taxi stops in front of the two layered steps of four which led up to the red-colored doubled doors.
I was astounded at how beautiful the place was. I step out the taxi and continue to scan the building. There we're students hanging out in front of it, and they all were dressed in uniform. They chatted amongst each other. Laughter, giggles, and chuckles were heard throughout the yard. Some students hung out by the water fountains, some on the steps, a few sat on the benches that were under the cherry blossom trees, and others were just now arriving at the school.
'This doesn't look like the elite school people be talking about.' I thought making my way towards the steps that lead to the school entrance. I notice a figure standing at the edge of the roof. The sun was shining bright today so I could hardly make out who it was. Placing my hand as a shield over my eyes, I squint at the figure hovering on the roof. It was a girl. Her long white hair along with her skirt was flowing with the wind. "Her hair.... i-i-it's as white as snow." I mumble surprised. It was as if everything started moving slowly as I gaze at the beauty on the roof. I was shocked at how someone of her complexion could hold such vibrant color. Her caramel-colored skin was glowing with melanin, thanks to the sun. She was gazing out into the sky unbeknownst of someone staring at her. I watch her intensely longing for her to notice me.
