In this fic, Izuru is a separate character from Hajime (they're twins).

Also, for further chapters, Daiya and Komaru will be included in the THH section (I know Komaru was only in it for a minute, but I don't know where else to put her) and Izuru will go in the SDR2 section.

How You Met/Got To Know Him

You've always valued making close relationships with people, whether it be familial, friendly, or romantic. Forming tight bonds with others brings you joy since getting to cherish others is such a wonderful thing. Unfortunately, you also know how awful it is to lose someone you hold dear.

When you were four years old, your biological father died in a workplace accident. Your biological mother was devastated and struggled to care for you, and she couldn't handle it, committing suicide a year later. At five years old, you had lost both of your parents- and to top it off, you were the one to find your mother's body hanging from the ceiling fan in her room. Afterwards, you were adopted by your godparents, the Yukizomes. With this, you gained an older sister in the form of Chisa Yukizome and two loving parents that were happy to take you in after two tragic incidents, and you grew to love them all, too.

Your adoptive family had all gone to Hope's Peak (Chisa as the Ultimate Housekeeper, your dad as the Ultimate Photographer, and your mom as the Ultimate Makeup Artist) so you were fully planning on following in their footsteps- and you had the talent to back it up. You wanted to be someone who saves people so kids wouldn't end up.... well, like you, with two dead parents, so you decided to be a first responder so you could help save people as soon as possible. That meant you learned all you could about first aid, and you eventually put that knowledge to work when you saved one of your classmates from choking. You became a bit of a local hero after that, and while it was nice, you only did what anyone with your knowledge would do.

Fortunately, that bit of fame managed to land you a spot at Hope's Peak (and possibly because of your family's history at the school) as the Ultimate Medic. You were ecstatic to get in since you weren't sure if you would, but your parents and sister were adamant that they knew you'd make it.

You made lots of friends at Hope's Peak, fully intending to hold on to their friendship for as long as you could. Since Chisa was the teacher for the reserve course students, you got to know lots of them too, including one boy named Hajime. You felt a strong kinship to him, and that connection only strengthened when he introduced you to a new student that transferred to Hope's Peak: his long-lost twin brother, Izuru.

Izuru had been kidnapped as a baby and raised in an abusive environment by a mentally unstable woman. He was only rescued and returned to his family the previous summer, whom were over the moon to see him back. Unfortunately, Izuru was cold, apathetic, and aloof to everyone. After getting him settled into his home, he was put through a psychological assessment was diagnosed with schizoid personality disorder, most likely stemming from having a terrible upbringing.

You sympathized with him since you have mental problems as well (the trauma of seeing your mom's body ended up giving you PTSD) so you tried to make him feel welcome at school. Through your efforts, you actually learned a few things about him: he's in therapy for his issues, is struggling to form a familial bond with the Hinatas, and that he has so many talents that the school invented the new title of Ultimate Jack of All Trades just for him. Despite this, he still had an icy attitude towards you, but you felt something else for him. It wasn't a normal feeling of striking up a friendship, but of something deeper. Of course, you knew exactly what this feeling was. But would he feel the same?
