Set-Up: What happened when you or your partner uttered the first "I love you"?

Chisa will go in this section from now on. By the way, with six more characters on the way, do y'all want me to separate the extra characters into another chapter? Like it'd be THH, SDR2, V3, then Extra? Or no?

I was thinking about changing the book cover as well, do y'all have any ideas as to what it should look like? If so, leave a comment here.

Also, I'm going to start crossposting this fic to Ao3 under the same username just in case another purge happens, so if you see it there, it's probably me!

Comment here with any requests!

Boys

Hajime Hinata

The first "I love you" came five months into your relationship.

Even though you struggled socially growing up, your academic prowess never wavered. This fact was only solidified by the sight of a fat A plus on top of your recently-graded chemistry exam. It was a difficult one, and most of your classmates barely scored above a C, and your boyfriend was, unfortunately, one of these people.

"A C minus isn't exactly the grade I was hoping for," Hajime told you once class ended. "It's disheartening to study all weekend and end up with a mark like that."

You grimaced, feeling bad for him.

"I'm sorry, I know you worked your ass off," You said. "But hey, you still passed."

"Yeah, I guess you're right." Even though he verbally agreed, you could tell based on his tone

that your attempt at injecting a silver lining into the situation didn't work.

"Izuru got an A." Hajime piped up after a few seconds, casting a glance at his long-haired brother that was currently exiting the classroom.

You winced a little at his statement; you know Hajime is a tad jealous of his twin because of his jack-of-all-trades title, but you were hoping he didn't bring him up.

"I should have expected that, though," Hajime continued, absentmindedly gathering his things.

"Izuru can do most things without effort. If only I was that lucky."

You sucked in a breath, trying to decide what your next course of action would be. You could assure him that he's also smart and talented and then shuffle off to your next class still feeling bad.... or you could do the idea that had just popped into your head.

You snatched up your backpack, then tugged on Hajime's tie once he was finished. He looked at you like you were crazy, but you didn't give him time to ask any questions.

"Follow me." You ordered, moving your hand from the tie to his wrist. The bewildered look on his face didn't change the entire journey you dragged him on- in fact, it only got worse when you stopped in front of the janitor's closet and gently pushed him inside.

"Y/N, what are you doing?" He asked as you entered the closet yourself and shut the door.

"We need to talk," You told him. "And it can't wait." Normally, you wouldn't be so forward, but sometimes a firm hand is needed.

"About what?"

"You comparing yourself to your brother. I know you want what he has, but that will never happen," You paused for a second, trying to find a better way to phrase your thoughts. "I'm sorry, I don't mean to be harsh, but I learned a while ago that focusing on your own strengths is way healthier than wishing you had the talents of others. I may not be great with socializing, but I'm a great student, and it took me a while to accept that. You may not be a borderline superhero like Izuru, but you have many more wonderful qualities: you're intelligent, care a lot about your family and friends, you're pretty good at giving advice, and you work hard to get good grades. So stop putting yourself down, please. I love you and I want you to realize just how great you are."
