Never Gonna Give You Up

On the hunt

Eva's POV:

Since Y/n spoke to the captain, I've been feeling a little more at ease, but I also am on edge cause it's fucking Connor. I just hope the captain and his team find him so I know where he is, which I hope is behind bars and in cuffs. 

"Baby are you okay?? You have stress all over your face" Y/n says and brings me into a hug

"Yea, I'm just scared" I replied

"Well Jake and his team are tracking Connor now and if he isn't where he's supposed to be, then they will do something, but if he is there then they have to review the package you got"

"Do they have to look at everything?"

"As much as I don't want a bunch of old white men looking at us doing it, they have to figure out how it was taped and all that"

"WHYYYYY IS IT ALWAYS ME??????"

"I know baby, hopefully it'll be over soon"

I just hug her as tight as I can and she wraps her arms around me. 

*4 hours later*

While we're watching movies, Y/n gets a call and I become anxious

*ring ring*

Y: Y/n J: Jake

Y: hello?

J: Hi Y/n, is Eva with you?

Y: yeah, she's right beside me, have you found him?

J: We have located Mr. Tanner and he is where he's supposed to be. I know you guys don't want us to watch the tape, but unfortunately in order for us to find out who may have done it, we have to review the tape and everything that was in the box as well. 

Y: Okay. we're both alright with it, and we'll send everything that was in the box with it. 

Y: Does everything need to be there? Cause Anna ate some of the snacks that were in there

J: Food content doesn't need to be in there, but if you still have the wrapping it could help

Y: Alright, we'll send this stuff you way later today. Thank you Cap-Jake

J: No problem, and if you have any questions about the case or even questions about the academy and such, please contact me.

Y: Thank you

*end call*

The call ends and I know Connor is still in prison. The only thing I'm unhappy about is that they have to watch the tape. 

Y/N's POV:

Although we found Connor's location and that he's still behind bars, the cops now have to watch the tape. I don't even know if this type of technology exists, but I hope there's something they can do to blur it out cause I really don't want them to see it. 

"I hate to say this, but we have to watch the film now, do you guys want to watch it and see if there's anything suspicious?" Jake says

"I'm all for it to help catch whoever did this to us, but it's up to Eva" I replied

I looked at Eva and she just leaned into me. I looked ta her again and I could feel her give me a slight nod. 

Jake and the team set up their equipment and while watching, we found the camera angle and later took down the camera. 

Eva was trying not to look the whole time because it was embarrassing. She's not wrong, but watching will also help us catch whoever filmed us and see whether they are connected to Connor. 

There was nothing suspicious about the tape, but the officers took the camera down and checked to see if there was anything tying to anyone or if there are fingerprints or anything. After about 20 mins, an officer walked up to Jake and said that they found a print. 

"Do you guys know anyone of the name Christopher Daniels?" Jake asks,

"That's the name on the delivery, it said a package from Christopher Daniels came. The name sounds familiar, but I can't quite remember" Eva says

Christopher Daniels, Daniels, Chris, Chrissy, Dan... it does sound very familiar. 

While I kept thinking, I was getting closer to knowing who it was. And then it hit me,

"IT'S TOPPER! Topper is a nickname Connor gave his friend, his friend's full name is Christopher Daniels. We never refer to him as Chris or Christopher so it didn't sound familiar" I said

"Okay, we will track down Topper and see what he is up to. We will also see Connor's visitors to see if there is anyone under the name Chris, Christopher, or topper" Jake said

Eva began crying and I couldn't help but to just hold her. It's these moments that I love because I get to comfort her, but it's also the moments I hate because she's in pain. 

Eva's POV:

Of course it's Topper. Connor and him are like best friends and would do anything for each other. I never thought that Topper was the kind of guy to do this, but I guess you never know. 

Crying and being in y/n's arms was the only thing that was helping this situation. I hate that Connor and his stupid friends are back again and that we have to deal with it. All this stress is not god for me and the baby, but knowing that Y/n is here by my side and would drop anything to come help me is comforting. 

"Baby, you should go back to school" I said

"It's okay. Carson is helping me take notes and I only had the one class today" She replied

"Okay, well do you think we can go get some McDonalds? I'm a bit hungry" I asked

"Anything for you"

As we were driving through McDonalds, Jake called us and said that Topper did visit Connor in prison. They brought him in for questioning and it seems that he is prepared to talk because he looks very scared and most likely doesn't want to go to prison.

After about 4 hours, Jake called us again and said that they arrested Topper and are moving Connor to a more secure prison and taking away his visiting rights. Knowing that there is a possibility that Connor's friends could come into our lives and ruin it is scary. I always wanted to stay in LA, but knowing that there is a possibility of this never ending, I'm considering to move back to Canada.
