A Few Weeks Earlier

To be honest, Adora had no idea whether or not she could forgive Catra after that night in the 'Fright Zone'. As soon as the paparazzi caught the both of them, Catra picked up her cellphone and ditched her without saying a word. Adora almost didn't believe it. So much for 'I've never loved anyone the way I love you, Adora'.

She didn't want to admit it but her heart was breaking with every passing minute, and with the added humiliation of those photos Adora didn't know what to think of the night. She was sure of one thing though, she needed to take drastic measures or else everything that she had built would crumble to pieces.

She went home and messaged her grandmother.

I messed a lot of things up, Razz. I'm going to try to fix them, but in the meantime – I'm sorry. For everything.

Immediately after sending the text she scrolled through her contacts, desperately looking for Sea-Hawk's number and hoping that she hadn't already blocked him.

"Aha!" She said to herself once she found it. She opened up a chat between the two of them and quickly typed out a text:

Hey, remember that date you wanted to go on? Let's do that. Tonight.

She stared at the screen for the next few minutes, anxiously awaiting his reply. However, she received nothing. She was left on delivered throughout the night and into the morning.

She slapped her hand to her forehead that next morning. Stupid, stupid stupid, she thought.

She set it down, she knew better than to check it. There were probably a million posts about herself and Catra trending, and reading the mean comments the press would have to say about her really wouldn't brighten her already dull mood.

Adora contemplated skipping work that day, but that would only make the situation worse. She figured she could just explain herself to Glimmer, she seemed to be the understanding type. The problem, however, was Catra. How could she even bring herself to face her after last night?

Adora stepped outside of her house and walked over to her red car, wearing a pair of sunglasses and covering her head with a hoodie just in case the paparazzi were out there – ready to snap a picture at any moment.

She had no idea how bad it had been until she noticed people pointing and staring at her as she drove to work.

Adora parked her car and walked over to the set. Heads turned as she made her way to her trailer. She hated that feeling, when you know that everyone in a room had just been talking about you before you stepped inside.

She entered the small trailer, Bow and Glimmer sitting inside as if they had been waiting for her to come in, which they had. One look at Glimmer's face told Adora everything that she needed to know about how unpleasant their conversation would be. To say that she was fuming would be an understatement.

"Adora, sweet Adora." She said through gritted teeth, "Would you care to explain what the fuck you were doing last night with Catra!?"

Adora shrank, "Was it that bad?"

"Was it that bad? Was it that bad!?" Glimmer laughed maniacally, "Our ratings have plummeted! If it weren't for my mother being the head of Bright Moon Broadcasting, the show would have instantly been cancelled. People are furious, Adora! You and Catra are supposed to be figures that men want and that women want to be. Nobody wants to see a show – and pardon my language for this – starring two dykes!"
