The last breath
Fleeting past the cold skin.
Mocking him
Telling him she’s dead.
Tears well up in his eyes
Yet they won’t fall.
His vision blurs
As they wheel her past him.
He reaches out a slender arm
Touching her once joyful mouth
Her smile is gone,
Like her breath
As the first tear slips past his wall
She disappears from sight
Gone somewhere he will never venture to.
