"Yes." I say.
Daniel stops the car.
"Really?"
"Yes."
"Is that all you're going to say?"
"Yes." Daniel looks right into my eyes, and I look right into his. He leans closer, and so do I. Our faces are just inches apart, and we were about to kiss, when I pull away, scared. I had never been kissed before.
"I'm sorry." I say.
"M-me too."
Daniel starts the car and continues driving.
"So," I say.
"So."
"What college are you thinking about?"
"Juilliard." He says.
"You're kidding?"
"No, why?"
"I'm applying to Juilliard."
"No way."
"Yeah."
"That's amazing!" He exclaims.
Daniel pulls into a parking lot. I look up to see the beach. This is my favourite place to take pictures at, photography is my main hobby.
"How did you know?"
"Know what?"
"This is my favourite place ever."
"Really?"
"Yes."
"What do you like doing here?"
"Taking photos."
"Is that so?" Daniel reaches into the back and grabs a camera. MY camera.
"How did you get that?"
"Well, I talked to your friend Sophie, and when she and you went to the mall, she snuck your camera out with her."
"You're kidding?"
"Nope."
"What do you want me to do with it?"
"Show me."
"Show you what?"
"Take some photos."
"Okay." I grab my camera and turn it on. I look at a good place for lighting. I stand up on a rock and look at the camera. I adjust the focus and zoom in. I take a few shots of the water and sky.
"Happy?"
"Show them to me." I take switch my camera to the playback setting and show him the photos I took.
"They're incredible."
"Really?"
"Yeah." Daniel wraps his hand around my waist. I tense up a little, before putting my arm around his shoulder.
"What School did you go to?" I ask.
"Glenview High."
"That's why I've never seen you around."
"Jade Bailey?"
"Yeah?"
"I'm happy you feel the same way."
"Me too."
"How come I've never met you before?"
"I don't know. Why were you at my grad?"
"My sister was graduating."
"What's your last name?"
"Gram."
"Daniel Gram?"
"Yes." And then it hit me. Daniel didn't just talk Sophie into stealing my camera. Daniel is Sophie's brother.
