Chapter 4

Me and Sophie walk into the building together and head straight for the table with all the food. Gosh that ceremony took a long time. I'm starving. I turn around to see Daniel talking to some of the boys in my math class. Why haven't I seen this guy before? I would know those bright blue eyes anywhere. But I can't think of anyone with eyes like that. Daniel. He didn't just graduate. Wow Jade, he didn't just graduate here, obviously you don't know him. I'm so stupid. Why was he at the ceremony? This makes no sense. Then I realize that Sophie is yelling in my ear.
"Jaaaaaaaaaaaade! Ughhhhh! What the heck?"

"Sorry." i say "I'll be right back." before Sophie can protest I'm gone. I walk up to Daniel. there's something going on here and I'm going to find out what it is.
I walk up and tap him on the shoulder.

"Hey. What's up?" Daniel asks.

"Oh hey. Okay I know this sounds awkward for... Catching me out there."

"Oh no problem." he says. "Hey, do you know what time it is?"

"Oh yeah, let me get my phone." I walk over and get my phone. I walk over to Daniel again and check. "It's only-" He grabs the phone out of my hands.

"Whoops." he said, "you were going to drop your phone and I caught it."

"Oh shut up." I say and go to grab my phone. He runs, and I chase him. He runs out of the building and around the back of it. Eventually we're out of breath. I grab my phone out of his hands. He snap-chatted everyone I know a video of us running with the caption "clingy" and added a contact of himself. I looked at him like why? He looks at me with a stupid smile on his face and runs. I look at the video and smile. I think to myself how attractive this person is... Like HOLY PRAISE.

My mom and dad call me into their bedroom tonight. I don't know what for, I just hope I'm not in trouble. My father speaks first.
"What in the world was that?"
"What was what?" I ask.
"That stupid speech that Sophie gave."
"What about it?"
"Choosing your own careers, you obviously had something to do with that."
"No I didn't, I swear to God."
"Honey," my mom starts, smoothly, "Can you excuse us for a moment."
"Yes, I'll leave." I walk out of the room.
I hear mumbling from the other side of the door. My mother is getting impatient, and me father is about to raise his tone into a scream. My mother opens her door and beckons me inside.
"So, your father and I were talking, and we decided," she looks at dad and smiles, "that you can apply to Juilliard next year!" My jaw drops down to the floor.
"You're kidding?" I ask.
"I'm not kidding." My mom laughs. I wrap her up in a hug knocking her over onto the bed. Dad and I hug too, almost the same way.
I run put of the room and open up my notebook and start writing.

Saturday, June 26
Today has been amazing for once. I found a new friend. His name is Daniel. The prom started off a little shaky, being chased by the football boys, although, when I was falling after they pushed me, Daniel caught me and I think I almost fainted. He later ran around with my phone and took snapchat videos of us and added a contact on my phone!! Who knows what this could lead to? He's wonderful. Tonight was quite swell.

After my entry I pick up my phone and go to Daniel's contact. I click on 'send message' and quickly type a message.
Me: Hello there~it's Jade.
I get a really quick response.
Him: I thought you weren't going to text me.
Me: Well, I did.
Him: :)
Me: What?
Him: You're just kinda cute
Me: What!?
Him: you're like a little snowflake
Me: okay?
Him: I have to go
Me: okay
Him: I'll miss you, snowflake
Me: I'll miss you too ;)
I check the time. 12:24. I yawn. I crawl into my pyjamas, and fall asleep smiling.
