Denied. I was denied from Juilliard.
"Jade. I'm so sorry."
"Don't be. This is how it was meant to be. I'll be a doctor."
"No you won't. I'm not going to let that happen. This isn't right."
"If it wasn't right, I would be accepted."
"This must have been a mistake!"
"Daniel! Just drop it!" I start to cry. "It's fine! It's fine. I'm fine."
"Jade, I love you too much to let this happen."
"I love you too, which is why I want you to drop it. I don't want to ruin your life with my problems."
"Your not ruining my life. Your making it better." He sits down beside me. "Please." He kisses me softly.
"Fine, but you are allowed to give up."
"I won't give up. I'll never give up on you."
"Thank you." Daniel wipes away my tears. He wraps his arms around me, stroking my hair. I love him. He always knows what to do, what to say.
"Come with me." He picks me up, I wrap my legs around his waist. He kisses me softly. He puts me down and takes my hand. He pulls me out the door and into his car. He drives, and drives, and drives.
"Where are we going?"
"You'll see."
"How long until we get there?"
"Not long."
"Okay." I say smiling. we pull up to a field.
"A field? There's a field right behind my house."
"I know but, this is my favourite place ever."
"Why?"
"Because this is where I realized I liked you."
"Is that all?"
"Yes." I cover my face with my hands. Daniel takes my hands away and cups my face with his. "You look so cute when you're shy."
"I'm not shy."
"Right, little snowflake."
"Hey! Take your hands off me, you'll make me melt." Daniel laughs.
"You're so funny."
"That was a stupid joke."
"Yes kind of."
We spend hours there, laughing and having a good time. I forget about what's happening and just smile and laugh instead.

I find Daniel on his phone. He's been on his phone a lot lately, it makes me nervous. Not that I think he's cheating on me or anything, I just want to know what he's doing.
"What are you doing?"
"Oh, nothing."
"Okay."
After a while of talking, he finally says:
"Jade, you're not going to believe this."
