—Draco POV—
I woke up particularly early this morning, having drank my tea and read the paper, which was more irritating than anything else, and found myself a little bit bored. Harry was not awake yet. The sun was hardly up, actually. The television caught my attention.
Images of Scorpius playing his silly dancing game flashed across my eyes. I remembered how happy he looks when he plays it. I wish he were still here.
I stood up, approaching the device and the console attached to it. Just looking, I told myself. My fingers grazed the colorful box with the words Just Dance across it. Scorpius had about three of them now, and I have actually already ensured that he gets the fourth one for Christmas this year.
What is the appeal of this game anyway? It's just you following the silly movements of ridiculously dressed characters to the beat of
popular Muggle music.I noticed Lettuce in my periphery, approaching me slowly. I snapped my head towards him.
"Don't you dare. I know what you're planning. I see your face," I whispered harshly.
Lettuce's eyes grew wide, and I watched as she leaned forward and down before wiggling his butt, and no, no! Stop it, you bastard. But the cat couldn't hear my hostile thoughts, and promptly pounced on me, nails digging into my hand. I quickly shooed him away, cursing as I did so. God-forsaken cat. I looked back to the game box in my other hand.
...Well, I can't find out what all the fuss about this game is without trying it firsthand, now can I? I took one glance upstairs. Harry is definitely not waking up quite yet... I can try this out.

With a flourish, I struck a pose, following the movements of the person dancing on the tv screen, letting out a huff of air. Scorpius would certainly be amused if he saw this. As the results popped up and began counting my stars, a peck on the window took my attention. Maybe it's a letter from Scorpius! I turned off the game, then used my wand to clean myself up, catching my breath. I smiled as I recognized Apollo, who flew in and dropped the note in my hand before leaving.
Dad,
Classes are well. My potions professor is a bit aloof, though. I spend a lot of time with Rose and with Teddy and his friend Luca.
Then there was a part that was scratched off, though if I squinted hard enough I could almost make out what it said.
I've also met a girl who likes to roam the halls. She's a bit scary.
I furrowed my brows, wondering if it was an actual student or if Scorpius had simply been spooked by one of the ghosts at Hogwarts.
though. They've put up decorations for Halloween. There are pumpkins that float by the ceiling of the Great Hall along with the candles, and there are lots of pumpkin-flavored foods for every meal, now.
Yesterday Luca and I snuck away the entire tray of Pumpkin Pasties, and we, along with Teddy, ate the whole thing, hidden away in a corner of a nearby corridor.
Rose wants to introduce me to all her cousins. Most of them have red hair, and I think I met them one Christmas already, but they're all a bit loud, and they aren't like Rose. I like Rose very much, though I'm not sure about the others.
Except maybe Victorie, Teddy's girlfriend. He gets mad when I tease him about it though, so I've stopped doing that. She's very pretty though, and very nice.
