—Teddy POV—

"It seems that Harry's contracted a stomach bug."

Draco's answer to my asking why Uncle Harry wasn't at breakfast rang in my mind over and over again, throughout the meal and then even afterward, while Scorpius and I put our plates in the wash before he tapped me on the shoulder, and signaled that we should go upstairs now that breakfast is done. I followed him up without complaint, entering his room as he closed it behind us. I watched him as he sat down on the bed and I did similarly. His expression though was one of deep thought. I furrowed my brows, silently waiting for him to say what was on his mind.

"I can't be the only one who's noticed how weird Dad and Harry are being, right?" I tilted my head in confusion.

"Well, no."

"Harry has been... off, lately. And So has Dad."

"I mean, I guess..." I shifted in my spot nervously while the gears turned in Scorpius' head, ignoring how I'd noticed the same things he had.

"Harry is starting to scare me..."

"Well, maybe you should talk to him."

"We need to find out what they're hiding." Scorpius finally looked up at me, face set stone-like. My eyes widened, and I shook my head. All thoughts of my most recent letter to Luca vanished.

"What? No!"

It was Scorpius' turn to be confused, it seemed, because he responded almost cautiously. "Do you not think they're hiding something?"

"I- well, no, you're right but- that gives us no right to go snooping around."

"Why? It's not like they've never shoved their noses in our business!" Scorpius was raising his voice, and the challenge behind it made me recoil with anger. The nerve of him... to invade Uncle Harry's and Draco's privacy like that, and so soon after what happened in the forest-

"Hello! Earth to Teddy!" I snatched his hand away from my face where he'd been waving it.

"Stop that-"

"You know I'm right, Ted. They're hiding something from us! They're lying to us! Don't you think we deserve to know what's going on?!"

"But we can't-"

"Oh stop being a baby," he retorted with a roll of his eyes. I felt my cheeks grow red at the insult.

"I'm not being a baby. I don't want to sneak around. Whatever is going on is their business!"

"What are you, slow?!"

"Oh shut up, if anything I should be asking the same to you!" Scorpius paused for a second, face bright red and shaking before he positively exploded.

"You know, maybe you actually are daft!"

"I'm not daft, I'm respectful!"

The air hung heavily with our screaming match infesting the area. Scorpius simply stayed with his arms crossed, one eyebrow raised.

"They can't tell us to mind our business when they don't do the same. I'm going to find out what they're hiding."

My blood was simmering with disbelief over Scorpius' blatant disrespect- does he actually not care that these are the people who care for us? That what they do or don't tell us is their problem, not ours?!

"You're being disrespectful-"

"And you're being soft." My fists clenched as I stood and stormed out of the room. As soon as I turned I spotted Draco, looking like a deer in the headlights as he stared right at me, at the door I'd just walked out of. I hated it. Hasn't anyone heard of minding their business?!
