Chapter 23

This is a fan-based scenario where Luffy becomes King of the Pirates and he had declared peace with the Marines. In this chapter, Ace and Marco had left the Whitebeard Pirates to live their lives as a normal family with their kids, Ember and Aiko.

Sorry if it kinda took a big leap or if it's too short for you guys. I had my writer's block and my brain couldn't function well but I tried to write this part to the best of my ability. I hope you guys get this scene and sorry for the confusion in my writing (if you had them when you read this).

Third Person

There is a secluded island with a small house on it. The island had grass fields around and a view of the sun. On that same island were 6-year-old Ember and Aiko playing and Ace watching them as they laugh and have fun. Then, a boat sailed towards them and he smiles, knowing that he had come home.

"Welcome home." Ace greeted him.

"Hello. I'm home." Marco said, smiling.

Ember

"Amazing, so you two joined the Whitebeard Pirates, then?" A kid asked.

"No, I joined the Straw Hats. Ember joined the Whitebeard Pirates. She's the newly-appointed captain, after all." Aiko answered.

"C'mon, Aiko, it's not that big of a deal. You're given the straw hat by Luffy, King of the Pirates himself! Now, that's a big deal." I told him.

"It might be selfish of me but I wished Mom and Dad were here. They'd be happy seeing us now." He said.

"Yeah..." I agreed.

It has been 5 years. Mom died of old age and Dad died of a sickness. As kids, they told us stories of their adventures on the Moby Dick and how they fought and defeated really strong enemies. The stories led us to be young pirates but after peace was declared between pirates and marines, there wasn't much to do compared to back then. I miss the old era.

"Ember, we gotta go." Aiko said.

"Oh yeah. Well, see you again!" I bid.

"Bye!" The kid bid, waving.

We ran to our ships and bid each other goodbye. I got on my ship and my first mate saluted me.

"We're ready for departure, captain!" He said.

"Alright, let's go!" I exclaimed.

Aiko

My sister had sailed off. I then looked at the old man sitting on the chair.

"Ready to go?" The man asked.

"Yeah. Where's Zonji?" I asked.

"He's in the kitchen. Oh, and Aiko." He said.

"Yeah?"

"You... you remind me of your father. Not your hair or eyes but your personality. He was calm and collected like you. You also inherit Ace's will of fire so I guess I can't say much since your parents are quite a deal," the old man said.

I smiled at his remark and nodded.

"Well, I can't expect anything from you either, can I, Luffy-san?"

He chuckled and then, Zonji came out with food.

"Oh, Aiko. Are we leaving?" He asked.

"Yeah, and we're going to go to that orphanage." I answered, receiving a nod from him.

"Yes! We'll depart now!" He said, preparing the ship for departure and steering the wheel to head out for sea.

I looked at the sky and smiled. Dad, Mom. Watch us. We'll make you proud. And you'd better thank us when we go up there and see you.
