Backstory:

Shimizu was born into a noble family, the oldest of 5 kids. Their mom was a housewife, their dad was captain of a well-known pirate crew and their grandmother was a Marine Admiral. The family lived happily in a mansion far off on a secluded island. Shimizu set off to sea at 5 to travel the world and became friends with 4-year-olds Miharu, Hinato & Michiko. The group then ventured the world for a year and had secretly found the One Piece.

A year later, Shimizu wanted to return to their home to share about their adventures but was traumatised when they arrived at the ruins of their home, caused by a tsunami that hit the island. Shimizu went into mourning for their family and it was heartbreaking to their friends as she had no one. After that, the quartet salvaged some supplies and sailed off to find more members. A month later, Hinato died from malaria and the group was put in misery. Soon, Miharu and Shimizu found 2 new members for a cook and navigator. A year after Hinato's death, Michiko died, sacrificing herself in a battle with bad pirates. By this time, Shimizu was close to dying inside.

As the years went by, the crew grew to 30 members. They changed their goal from travelling the world to just helping out people. Life was about to settle down for them when it crumbled once again after a Marine ship attacked them. Luckily, Shimizu and Miharu got on a spare lifeboat but regretted that their crew defended the ship to their last breaths and told them to call for help, knowing that it was already pointless in doing so. Shimizu and Miharu landed on an island and camped there for 3 years. They ate weird and irregularly shaped fruits that had swirly patterns on them. Shimizu ate the Nagi Nagi no mi and gained the ability to create soundproof fields.

When they were 13, a ship sailed towards them. The crew introduced themselves as the Straw Hats and their captain, Luffy, was similar to their best friend. Shimizu and Miharu then joined the crew, offered by Luffy, and were given the roles of assassin and staff respectively. They set off in Sunny, defeating enemies and collecting precious information about the One Piece.

Shimizu later gained Observation Haki during their stay in Sabaody. Then, a Marine Pacifist, Kuma, separated the crew, teleporting them to different places far apart from each other. 2 years later, after the Marineford War, the Straw Hats were reunited again and they resumed their adventure. This time, one member was not seen at the reunion. Miharu. Nobody but Shimizu knows what happened to her. At 18, Shimizu left the Straw Hats and went solo for a month before joining the Whitebeard Pirates.
