You could feel it in the air this afternoon as we walked into the tiger stadium LSU was ranked number 3 in the top 25 polls and the media has been on this game all week! Since the week has started the media said that SCT wouldn't stand a chance, and LSU's offense is gonna go all out but that is to be determined. LSU featured a strong senior class of defensive tackle's Antwan Grey & Montae Harrison running back Josh Montgomery, and quarterback Bodie Daniels. As LSU received the ball first, with Malachi Rosemond returning the Shae Matthews kick to the Michigan 33-yard line. LSU gained a first down after converting a third and one with a three-yard run by Bodie Daniels. Bodie then completed an 18-yard pass to Keenan Anderson, followed by a 33-yard rush from Montgomery pushing LSU to the four-yard line of SCT. Montgomery then ran the ball in for a touchdown, and the ensuing extra point made the score 7-0. After the Wolfpack jogged on the football field the crowd got the best of Cortland so he had to call a timeout, after a run play that went nowhere he decided to switch it up so they tried the quarterback sweep up the middle but Cortland was met by Antwan, and the rest of the defense! As Cortland tries to shake off the big hit from Antwan it was 3rd & 8 so they lined up again the crowd started to get the best of Cortland again as Jasper our center hiked the ball at the last minute hewent back into the pocket again but when he seen Montae come up the middle he was drilled again but this time he didn't get up which left our crowd stunned as Coach Gills walked on the field to check on him I was waiting on him to get up but as he got up and took his helmet off and walked off the football field. The next series that LSU went in our defense stopped them cold and gave us the ball back, Cortland jogged on the football field the second time to get us downfield but you could tell that the crowd was getting the best of him and the first two down's he was playing scared in the pocket so Coach Gills called his second time out as he pulled Jeremy off to the side my offensive coordinator coach Jackson told me buckle up your heading into the game. As I jogged on the football field I was met with some boo's from the crowd so we all lined up together I told the offense forget about the last series and the past two plays let's play our game as I gave them the play we broke the huddle, and jogged up to the line of scrimmage. Montae started to hype up the crowd so I looked at the coverage and went back into the shotgun formation Jasper hike the ball to me I stood back in the backfield as I noticed Montae coming I spinned off of him and thrown the ball deep down field to my brother Chris for a touchdown that went 65 yards. The extra point was converted, tying the score at 7-7. The following two drives resulted in three-and-outs for both teams, but after a Wolfpack punt went out of bounds at LSU's 48-yard line, the Tigers mounted a ten-play, 52-yard drive culminating in a ten-yard touchdown pass from Bodie to Brandon Edwards. The extra point gave LSU a 14-7 lead, as the second quarter begins SCT ran another six plays, ending the drive with a nine-yard touchdown pass by Lawrence to Yogi Jordan. The extra point again evened the score, this time at 14-14. LSU was forced into a three-and-out and had to punt the ball, with SCT starting their next drive at the LSU's 40 On the fourth play of the next drive, the Wolfpack on a 4th down play scored a touchdown on a 20-yard pass from Lawrence to his big brother Chris. The Wolfpack converted the extra point attempt, giving them the lead at 21-14. LSU began their next drive at their 20-yard line, and drove down to the SCT 40-yard line in five plays. Their very next play Josh Montgomery run for five yards, was followed by a Minor run for no yards and an incomplete pass. The tigers opted to go for it on fourth down but failed to convert, turning the ball over to SCT. The following Wolfpack drive featured nine running plays in a row, the last a 15 yard run by Lawrence for a touchdown. The extra point was successful, increasing the Grizzlies lead and making the score 28-14. SCT returned the next kickoff to their 30 yard line. The Tigers drove to the Grizzlies five-yard line, ultimately settling for a field goal with 23 seconds left, cutting the Wolfpack's lead to eleven points. The third quarter opened up with a decent kick return by Corey who returned the opening kickoff of the second half to their own 36-yard line, but LSU's star cornerback Breshan Howard intercepted Lawrence throw on the second play of the drive. LSU took possession at SCT's 45 -yard line, driving to the 20 yard line before kicking a field goal to decrease the tigers lead to eight points. SCT began play after the kickoff at their own 24-yard line, driving 65 yards in 13 plays and scoring a 31-yard field goal to make the score 31-20. Before Malachi fumbled the ball on the fifth. The fumble was recovered by Tahj Williams at the LSU 25-yard line. However, SCT failed to get a first down on the ensuing drive, and Shae missed a 40 yard field goal attempt. LSU then went three-and-out on their next drive and had to punt, but a fumble by Pj on the following drive was recovered by Montae Harrison giving them control of the ball at the SCT's 33 yard line. LSU drove 31 yards over six plays, scoring a touchdown on a four-yard run by Montgomery. The tigers went for a two point conversion but failed to convert, making the score 31-26 in favor of SCT heading into the fourth quarter. SCT continued their drive but were forced to punt after being stopped on 3rd down. LSU began their drive at the wolf-pack 40 yard line, but a Bodie Daniels pass was intercepted by Noah Washington on the fifth play of the drive. Heath returned the ball 28yards, and SCT began the drive at their own 43 yard line, but were forced to punt after going three-and-out. LSU got the ball at their own 24-yard line and mounted a nine-play, 43-yard drive to the SCT's 33-yard line. On the final play, a fourth and five, Bodie's pass fell incomplete, turning the ball over to SCT, who were again quickly forced to punt. After returning the punt to their own 46-yard line, Montgomery ran the ball 54 yards for a touchdown, giving LSU the lead 32-31. LSU chose to go for two, but the conversion attempt failed. On the very next drive Lawrence was again picked off on the first play of the ensuing drive, giving LSU control of the ball at the wolf-pack 43-yard line. LSU ran five plays before attempting a 43-yard field goal. The a attempt was blocked by Heath Miller however, giving SCT control of the ball with the time running out and no time outs left the wolf pack the pack drove 69 yards down the field on the very next play with ten seconds Lawrence's next pass to Yogi was deflected by Breshan Howard so it was now five seconds the game was on the line so Lawrence went into the huddle he knew that they was gonna double Pj and Chris but Chris told Lawrence if you get it to me I'll make it count! As we broke the huddle the crowd was on there feet as Lawrence sent Yogi in motion Breshan and the free safety followed in pursuit and Jasper hiked the ball I seen Chris is pursuit so I threw it to him as he caught it near the sideline as LSU's cornerback Kevin Young bounced off of Chris he managed to stay up and went into the end zone for a touchdown with no more time on the clock. The crowd was left stunned and in silence our team rushed over to the end zone to celebrate so the referee charged us with an excessive celebration penalties and had to kick off from their own 10 yard line but we didn't care because the game was over so on the next kickoff our special team didn't give them any hope they stopped them cold and the game was over the final score was 38-31!! What an upset..
