Chapter 10: Relax & Take Notes

After three huge wins against South Carolina State, Charleston Southern, and Syracuse it was time for our team to face another hurdle but this hurdle was Miami. Just like us Miami was also undefeated but was led by my best friend Shaquille Brown, Defensive ends Josef Mavia, and Daniel Moxon cornerback Colby Rivera freshman quarterback of the month Matthew Miller Running back Aiden Palamalu and a host of other players.. This past week the media has been once again doubting us again calling the game against LSU a fluke but this time around Miami was coming into our house, so you know it's only right if we show up and give our fans what they've been missing for the last few weeks. To me this game not only felt like a bowl game but it was a statement game to let the ncaa know that we are here! As the game got underway there was a little trash talk between both teams, but when the ensuing kickoff was from Shae it was returned to the 25 yard line. After Matthew Miller went four and out SCT opened the scoring with a 23-yard touchdown pass from Lawrence to his brother Chris. SCT scored again late in the first quarter after a Miami missed field goal attempt with a seven-yard pass from Lawrence to Yogi. Miami got on the board early in the second quarter with a 35 yard field goal by Hunter Hill then Shae converted his own field goal, from 42 yards out Georgia's next possession ended in a Matthew Miller interception to Javier Broadax but SCT's 49 yard field goal attempt missed with 3 seconds to go kept the score at 17-3 SCT at half-time. SCT's opening possession of the second half ended with a 28-yard field goal by Shae and Miami's ensuing possession resulted in a 33 yard miss by Hill. SCT now has a chance to quickly widened its lead with an 81 yard drive that included a 70-yard pass from Lawrence to guess again his brother Chris and ended with a four-yard touchdown pass to Yogi followed by a fumble by Mathew which was recovered by Bear gave Lawrence and the offense great field position to capitalize on and he did with a 10 yard touchdown pass to Chris to make the score 34-3. After a lock down performance by the offense and defense in the fourth quarter with two minutes on the clock Coach Gills decided to take me out the game as I jogged off I was met with cheers by the crowd I stood beside Coach Gills as I jogged pass him he gave me a quick head nod then told me to take a seat beside Coach Allen. Miami scored its only touchdown via a five yard pass and SCT managed to end the game with a field goal by Shae. As the fans stormed the field we had another upset under our belt but this win didn't hit me until the next morning where ESPN was talking about my game performance, I finished the game with 310 passing yards, four touchdowns, 56 rushing yards, and 15 yards reception so now there's the question everyone is asking "Does SCT Deserve To Be In College Championship Picture??".
