Break up - Lyn

It had been two months, but it felt like yesterday.  I can see Blake waving back to me when he left to Jamanakai.  I can hear his last words: There's somewhere special where I store all of our memories.  And the next morning Lilly started her voyage to Shintaro, not even sure if it actually exists.  But I was in Maya's room now and those were just memories.

Maya and I both have been spending a lot of time indoors in our rooms.  I was still upset that Blake left but yet again, it was Lilly who brought him here.  Now she was gone too.  Maya was also upset, but only for the reason that Lilly was going to get married before her.

"Your turn, Lyn," Maya murmured in front of me.  We were playing Battleship and as usual, Maya was winning.

"D7."

"Water... B9."

"Sunk," I moaned, "You win."

"Like always," Maya grinned with truimph, "Lyn, you now have to start living your life too."

I stared at her.

"You haven't got out for two whole months!" she argued.

"I'm thinking about Blake... what if something happens to him?"

"Chill girl, he's a grown man."

"But Lilly's only sixteen."

"You're thinking about her too?  Thank the mountain she left - she only created competition."

"Are you serious?  She's still - "

"So?" Maya rolled her eyes.

"She brought my brother back into my life, Maya, and I'm grateful for that.  If it wasn't for her... maybe you should take more notice of other people's lives too.  Lilly's going to a place and we have no proof that it's there.  She may not even return.  She's still young, Maya.  Aren't you a little worried?"

Maya kept quiet for a few moments.

"You're right, Lyn.  I'm sorry."

We hugged it out on the bed.  I was beginning to feel just as Blake had felt when I left Jamanakai to become a ninja.

"Hi girls, dinner's ready," George said, kicking the door with his foot.  He was holding two bowls, "Mac and Cheese today."

I wasn't hungry but I took it anyway and started eating slowly.  Meanwhile, Maya's plate was already half empty.

"This is so good!" she blurted with food in her mouth, "Who made this?"

"Ray," George said.

She shrugged and continued to eat.  We never knew Ray could cook.  George stayed in the room with us.  He caught my eye and noticed that I wasn't eating.  A frown appeared on his face.

"Come on Lyn, eat somethin'!  And maybe later on... we can hang out... you and me... now that Blake's gone."

From his face I could tell that he was happy.  Everybody seemed ok after Blake's goodbye.  But I wasn't and I had had enough.  I got up from the bed and stormed out, dragging him from his collar.

"You take that back - "

"No Lyn, I was right," he choked.

We were looking at each other, panting.  Everyone else was too.  Usually Wu would object about our fighting but today he was quiet.

I shocked him but he was too quick.  George managed to turn himself invisible and without feeling it, he pushed me to the ground.  I stood up immediately and glared at him.  He wasn't invisible anymore.  He knew we had to stop.

"Stop braggin' about your brother, will ya?  You've been avoidin' me ever since he came here!" he shouted, "I thought you loved me - "

"Don't you mention Blake again!  He has nothing to do with this - "

"You were hangin' out with him instead of me.  How should I feel, huh?"

"George, I think we shouldn't see each other... we should break up - "

"Of course we should," he screamed in a sarcastic tone, "And you know what?  I'll go.  I quit the team.  I'll leave if that's what you want.  I'll give you space if you need it," he ran to the courtyard and opened the doors, "'cause that's what a gentleman does."

He slammed the doors and didn't come back.  We all fell quiet.  I had lost my boyfriend George.  Two members of the team down.

"I knew this was going to happen."

We all stared at Wu.
