You're the one - Ray

The monastery was quiet.  Only Water girl and I were present.  I was in my room, while she was outside, waiting for Will.  The rest were out and I was supposed to be with them.  I didn't feel like going out, especially after losing my buddy George.  Water girl was the only person that could cure my soul so I decided to stay in.

I was in my room.  I couldn't stop opening and closing my drawer.  One, it made music to my ears, and two, I wanted to read my words to Water girl.  I shouldn't hide the truth anymore.  I loved her.  I took the note out of my drawer and read the words to my heart.  If only Water girl could open her eyes to a new life.

There was a lot of chatter and silly noises outside.  Water girl was flirting with Will.  He was hot, sexy, charming - what did I have?  How was Water girl gonna fall in love with me?  And the giggling, endless giggling.  That wasn't the real Water girl, she was only trying to impress him.

"Hey, let's get inside the kick-boxing arena.  Nobody's around," I heard Water girl say.

So Will didn't know the truth.  Neither Water girl knew I was here.  I heard their footsteps come in.

I had to speak my heart out.  I had to do something bit to Water girl.  I had to show that I loved her.  Like I told George, I had to be the gentleman.

And the plan came to me...

The monastery was dark, lit by a few candles that I had produced with my fire.  I hid myself behind the kitchen counter as I watched Will and Water girl enter.  I wanted to see what they were gonna do.  I had to learn what Water girl really wished, so she could choose me instead of Will.

"Wow," Will gasped as he went in, "did you prepare this?"

Water girl didn't respond.  She tried to smile, but she was just as wondered as him.

"It's really romantic, Maya."

"I know," she managed to say.

"Which reminds me," Will started, "I've got something to tell you now that we are alone."

I kept quiet as I stared at Will pull out his guitar.  I took a better glimpse of him.  Water girl was right, his red hair made him look really handsome.  He smiled with his perfect teeth and began to sing and play in his gentle voice.

"There's so many things

I do for you,

I don't need to

Listen to my head,

All I do is

Follow my heart instead,

The perfect wonders of life

Are within you,

A future together

Is what I see,

Will you marry m - "

"Not so fast!" I shouted as I raced to them, raising my hand with fire.  Their jaws dropped in front of me.

"Ray, what are you - "

"Who is this?" Will asked.

"Coll - "

"Fire ninja," I said before Water girl could finish her word 'colleague', "Before you answer Will, I want to tell you something that I've been holding for a long time."

I snatched the paper out of my pocket.  Water girl wasn't too pleased.  Will's face changed to the colour of his hair.  They were both staring at me.  This was my time, Will.  My hands started to sweat.  They were shaking.  This was my big moment.  It had to turn out right.  The truth had to be told.  Come on Ray, you can do this!

I took a deep breath.

"Maya," I read, "The best moments of my life were made because of you.  I can always be myself around you.  And I don't wish to hide the truth because I love you and I've been wanting to say this from the first moment I knew you exist.  You brought joy, hope and care into my life and made me live again, like there's something to live for... hey!"

Water girl grabbed my paper.

"Really?" she asked sarcastically as she put her eyes onto the paper.  She began to read, "I can repeat actions all the time but words speak from the heart and that is where love comes from.  There's only one purpose in my life - for you to forever be my always."

"The room might be filled with candles but you are the light that shines in my heart.  You are the candle of my life, Water girl," I went on one knee, "Will you be my girlfriend?"

"No," Will jumped.  He too  went on one knee, "Will you marry me and be my wife?  And wait a minute - what does Water girl mean?"

Water girl placed the note in her pocket and glanced at us both.  I was trembling while Will was calm and confident.  The beautiful lady took a deep breath and opened her mouth to speak.

"I know you more - "

"No Will," she interrupted, "You two are both very amazing men, and Will, I love you but you don't know me.  I've been hiding from you that I'm the water ninja.  It was Ray who made me realize.  You're the one," she pointed at me, "because I can be myself with you and I love you for who you are."

"Are you sur - "

I wasn't given enough time to finish.  Water girl leaped on me and drew her lips towards mine.  She was kissing me, she was kissing me!  She truly love me! Tears prickled in my eyes.  There was nothing more I ever wanted, only for this kiss to never end as we couldn't stop ourselves from having the time of our lives.

We gazed at each other, my arms rested on Water girl's shoulders.

"Did you mean everything you wrote and told me?" she whispered.

"Yes Water - I mean Maya."

She smiled, "You may always call me Water girl, Ray."
