I shut the door of my car once I've reached the address.
This place is kind of close to mine like Zac had said
It's located in some sort of alleyway and I'm not sure if this is bad or not.
Ignoring the uneasy feeling, I walk down the alley and spot a door.
The door is unlocked when I twist the door knob.
Pushing the door open I spot a flight of stairs.
I still have the pamphlet in my hand as I walk down the stairs.
Once I reach the bottom of the stairs, there's another door, but muffled music is heard and a ring of a bell.
Frowning, I push the door open, just enough for me to see inside.
Through the creek of the door I can see a huge crowd of people, mostly men.
They were all shouting and cheering for something.
Loud deafening music is heard and I frown, wondering what they're all looking at.
I push the door further and lucky for me no one acknowledges me, since they're too busy watching something in the centre.
My eyes finally land on what they're all cheering at.
I see a boxing ring and two men inside it, the one looking almost unconscious.
The boxing ring is covered in some kind of metal fence as the two inside fight.
No safety gear is worn, no gloves and no mouth gaurds.
My eyes widen as I see the man that's almost unconscious, spitting out blood.
Is this what Zac was doing that night?
Is that why his knuckles were always busted?
Immediately, without another thought, I turn around and run.
Underground boxing?
I can't believe what I've just witnessed.
I shut the door as I enter the alleyway again.
I turn to my car, jumping in almost immediately.
He said he didn't want to get me involved
I groan in fustraision and I start my car, driving home.
What do I do now?
Do I just ignore it?
I stop at a red light and my fingers repeatedly tap on the steering wheel.
I search for my phone in my back pocket, dailing Sarah's number.
I can't involve her too
I end the call before she can pick up.
I take deep breaths as to calm myself down from my recent discovery.
I need answers
When I arrive home, I park my car in the driveway.
I can't help but wonder where he is right now, is he at college or university?
Did he decide to take a gap year or decline the idea of it all?
I rest my head against my seat.
Maybe he wanted to keep this secret and move on with his life and left it all behind.
Including me
I didn't even get the chance to tell him that I like him.
That I'm in love with him
I look at my phone, contemplating whether to call him once more or go on with my life, forgetting him like he forgot me.
"Fuck it," I mumble, dailing his number as if it became a habit of mine.
When the phone starts to ring, I wait.
But before it could ring a second time, his voicemail pops up.
"It's Zac McLain, I'm not with my phone right now, leave a message at the beep," his voice speaks through my phone, before I end the call.
He's always not with his phone
I hear laughter break through in the living room once I open the door to my house.
"Oh my gosh, yes!" I hear Annette shriek and I let out a small smile.
My father gives her a kiss on her cheek and envelopes her in a hug.
As I walk up the stairs he smiles at me, still embraced with Annette.
I give him a thumbs up, returning the smile and walking up stairs.
I'm happy for him
