Chapter Twelve

"Carson, we only have thirty minutes until formal, hurry and get dress!"

"It'll only take me like two minutes to get ready, chill."

Lacey and Carson were bickering back and forth while me and Natalia were getting ready. I was finishing up on my makeup while Natalia was curling her hair. We both finished and by that time Carson finally had her dress on. We all walked downstairs, where my dad was.

"You girls look beautiful," my dad said, smiling and taking pictures.

Just then the door bell rang and dad opened the door, revealing Josh, Andrew, Neil and Jeremy.

"Whoa," they said at once. We giggled and walked towards our dates. Neil and Carson were going together because they didn't want to go alone....though they would be cute together.

Dad took one too many pictures of us all and finally let us go.

We finally arived at the school and walked to the gymnasium, where formal was hosted. We walked inside and Natalia immediately dragged Andrew on the dance floor. Lacey and Josh followed. Carson and Neil walked over to Austin and Gielle, conversing with them.

I felt Jeremy's arm leave my waist and his hand slip into my hand as he dragged me towards the crowded dance floor. A slow song (typical) came on and Jeremy held my waist as I wrapped my arms around his neck loosely. We swayed back and forth, moving slowly.

"So, we graduate in four months, are you excited?" I asked. Jeremy nodded and smiled.

"I wanna get out of this place so bad," he said, leaning his head against mine. I blushed at how close we were, not that I wasn't use to it by now. He just always made me feel this way...

"Get out of the way cow," I heard someone say behind me. I turned around and saw Emma and her usually barbie dolls. I rolled my eyes and moved out the way. Emma walked away but not before she touched Jeremy in a totally inappropriate way. Jeremy looked at her with disgust and pulled me closer to him.

I will rip the fucking extension out of hair if you touch him like again.

It's been two hours and I was getting bored. I saw Neil and Carson close by and decided to talk to them.

"This formal blows," Neil said, I sighed and nodded in agreement.

"You guys wanna ditch?" Carson asked.

"Hell yes," I said, irritated by this place, "let me ask if Jeremy wants to ditch too."

"We'll be waiting for you outside," Carson said and they left. I nodded and turned to the crowd to look for Jeremy.

It's been five minutes and I can't find him anywhere. I sighed and turned, walking towards the door.

"I can't find Jeremy," I said, walking towards Carson. She looked nervous and panicked.

"We found him," she said and pointed down the hall. I walked down the hall and saw Neil crouched down next to someone. I kneeled down; Jeremy was on the floor unconscious, blood spilling from his head.

"Oh my god, Neil what the hell happened?!"

"I don't know we heard a loud bang and I ran out here and saw him," he explained.

"Did you call the ambulance?" I asked, holding Jeremy in my arms. He nodded and yelled at Carson to get the others. He called Jeremy's mom and told him what happened.

Who would do this?

"Please be okay Jeremy," I said, feeling the tears well in my eyes.

Be strong Nathaniel...Don't cry.
