"You suck at dancing."

I was dancing with Tyler and his cousins. They were trying to teach me and Emmica how to dance, but it isn't going so well.

"I give up."

I sat down. Halfway through dancing I gave up my crutches so I could dance. It didn't make my dancing skills any better.

I was eating wedding cake with Kylee when I heard something so unexpected I almost spit out my cake.

"May I have this dance?"

Lance somehow thought he would ask me to dance. Was he insane? Kylee nudged me which knocked me out of my trance.

"What?"

"Do you want to dance with me?"

"I guess."

I couldn't believe it. This is so weird. A slow song of course had to come on just moments after.

"Ow."

"Sorry!"

Lance was helping me dance, but I kept on stepping on his and somehow my own feet.

As the music started to fade I almost fainted as I heard Lance ask me a question.

"Do you want to go on a date with me, Alexia?"

If he hadn't said my name I would have not believed it.

"I don't know...." I trailed off.

"I know we just met, but I couldn't help but ask."

"Yes."

"What?"

"Yes, I will go out with you."

I have no idea why but something in me just told me to say yes. I had a millions of things going through my head. My thoughts were soon interrupted by Tyler.

"Hey, I was looking for you."

"Oh, sorry."

"I have to head home. Are you ready to leave?"

"Yeah."

I said goodbye to everyone. I got Kylee and Emmica's number, and gave them mine. We then slowly walked back to Tyler's car.

"Thanks for coming with me," Tyler said.

"No problem. I don't mind."

He drove to my house, in the most awkward silence. He walked me up to the door and for a moment neither of us knew what to do. We just stood in front of each other.

"See you at school on Monday," Tyler said, breaking the silence.

"Bye."

I walked into the house and looked around. The lights were off, so my parents must have gone to bed.

I walked up stairs, creaking that one stair that I'm sure everyone has in their house. It must have woken my parents up because their light turned on.

My mom emerged from the doorway. "You are back late."

"Sorry, I didn't think it would last that long."

"It is fine."

"Mom, can I go to Zoe's tonight?"

"Sure."

Wow, that didn't take long to convince her. Now, I just have to ask Zoe.

I walked into my room and went on to my phone. I saw a voice message from her. I played it.

"We need to talk. Call me when you can!"

I called her back and I swear it didn't even ring, before Zoe answered.

"I have been waiting for you to call back! What was more important?"

"That's why I called you. I think it's time for a sleepover. Mind if I come over?"

"Not at all. I was thinking the same thing."

"Can you pick me up?"

"I swear, you need to get your driver's license. I'll be there in 5."

"Okay, bye."

I hung up and threw random clothes into a bag. I grabbed many of things when my phone buzzed.

I went outside and got into Zoe's car. We got to her house, which is just a few streets down and walked into her house.

I was greeted by her younger sister, who gave me a hug. We walked into her room, ready to spill our story.
