*ClatterA pebble rolled.
*Clatter
Another one rolled.
Hands in his pocket,he dragged his feet as he walked through the streets, kicking any pebble or rock that was in his path.
Constant sighs escaped his lips as he made his way deeper into the alley.Shoulders bumping into a few people here and there,he earned several glared from passerby but he didn't stop, nor did he apologise.
His shuffled steps soon came to a halt as he reached the end of the alley, supposedly reaching his destination.
He looked up,a small place in front, lit up dimly.Through the window,he could see a girl at the counter, and probably another person somewhere behind.
Fumbling his pocket of his jacket,he took out a card that he was given earlier today.
《DOTD》
The letters on the beige card were engraved in gold, sparkling under the lamppost.
The place had the same letters written on the sign above, indicating his destination.
He flip the card to the back. There stated the address and business hours, nothing more.
The card was given to him by one of his friends earlier today.
——————————
"So you both got into a fight?"
Heeseung summarised what his friend told him.He sighed in reply.
"And you guys are ignoring each other?"
He nodded his head.
"For how long?"
"A week."
Heeseung gasped. He was almost always with her, never leaving her alone by herself.Even though they had different classes and all,he would text her every time,to make sure she was fine.Heeseung found it unbelievable that he was able to pull through a whole week without any contact.
He could barely last a day without having to check up on her,a sweet boyfriend indeed.
They had a few fights before, but this time was a little more intense and that made it hard to resolve. It started with a misunderstanding, which they didn't really have a chance to talk about. Then, like a snowball tumbling down the mountain, the problem got bigger and bigger.
Until,a single thing agitated the piled up emotions, causing it to burst and overflow, pouring out everything they didn't manage to say,all the little complains and dissatisfaction they had about their relationship.
"Everything is through text. You think I still feel your love and care? You barely say anything to me when we meet face to face!"
She shouted at him.
"Why must I be the one who starts the conversation? If you want to then you speak first. You never take the initiative. All you do is wait for me!"
That was their last conversation they had,on a Friday night, during their date.No one spoke since then.At first it was manageable,as their anger towards each other was still present.
However, after a few days, the empty presence became evident and unsettling. He felt guilty but he didn't know how to approach her.
Hence,he tried to avoid her.She did the same and the two haven't resolved their problem.
"I don't know what to do anymore."
He had told Heeseung, who came to give him some comfort after seeing him acting a little depressed.
"Well, you're not making a move.If you don't do something you might actually loose her."
"Says the one who also lost his girl.Shouldn't you help yourself first?"
"I did.I've already move on."
Truthfully,Heeseung had gotten over the break up and was back to normal.
"Here."
He took a card out from his pocket, handing it over to Jay who carefully inspected it.
"This might help."
Heeseung pointed to the name written on the card while the other raised his eyebrows, doubtful about it.
"How is this going to help?"
Jay held the card between his fingers, waving it in front of him.
"Just give it a try."
Heeseung reassured, patting Jay's back before standing up to take his leave.
"Oh!They don't sell alcohol."
He turned around to give him a heads up,chuckling to himself as he was reminded about his first visit there.
And because of that,Jay found himself going to the place Heeseung had recommended, not really knowing why.
"Here goes nothing."
He mumbled under his breath, heading inside the cozy place.
"Welcome!"
A girl said, from behind the counter.
Jay stood at the door, looking around at the interior of the place, eyes fixated on the decorations.
The girl lead him inside, and he sat down comfortably.
"Here's the menu.Tell me when you're ready to order or if you need anything."
She handed him the big menu as she turned her heels and went to wash the cups at the sink behind the counter, back facing him.
Jay didn't open the menu immediately.Instead,he took his time to observe his surroundings. He felt something off about the place but he couldn't seem to pinpoint anything.
The place gave off a mysterious and secretive vibe that was weirdly cozy and warm.Furthermore,he had never came across or heard about this place before, that's until Heeseung told him about it.
He has been to this area several times, since it's location had many bars, restaurants and cafes that was just around the corner but never did he realise about this alley.Never did he explored this part of the street.
Just like Heeseung's experience,he too found himself all alone,no other customers.
There probably wasn't any other staffs as well as the girl was washing the cups herself.Or maybe there was another, somewhere in the kitchen,as he could here sounds of metal clanging.
After a while,he finally opened the menu.
Question marks filled his head as he stared at the menu before him.
Heeseung had told him they didn't sell alcohol but he definitely didn't tell him that they only sold one thing.
What do you think is the dessert this time?
It's related to his problem so try and guess it.See if you can get it right before the next chapter;)
