*Drip

      Drip

           Drip

Raindrops dropped down from the sky, falling onto to the ground.Ominous black clouds had already covered up the clear night sky, darkening the shade, moon no longer visible.

He looked up,to face the sky, raindrops falling onto his face, like tears.

What a sad day.The sky seemed to share his sorrow, weeping.

He continued his way, ignoring the rain.

A few moments later, the rain poured heavier, falling down from the sky mercilessly.

The raindrops hit on the roofs of the nearby shops,so heavy that it almost seem as if it would break through the roofs.

Thunder boomed, like cymbals clashing together,a deafening sound that tears his eardrums.Lightning flashed, cracking open the sky with it's bright strike of light.

It was noisy, with all the messy and loud sounds that were created from the harsh weather.

The bustling streets started becoming empty.People running around, using whatever belongings they had to cover their heads while seeking shelter.

By then it was too hard to ignore the rain.Within seconds,he was already pretty much drenched entirely, from head to toe.

Without an umbrella,he had to find a place to seek shelter.Dashing down the street,he didn't give a second thought before entering the last shop at the corner.

*Ding!

The bells chimed as the door behind him slammed,a little too harsh.

"Welcome!"

A voice sang along.

He bent down, hands on his knees, panting heavily while trying to catch his breath.

Water dripped off his wet hair, making a puddle at the doorstep. He quickly removed his jacket.

"Oh my!Are you okay?"

A female figure appeared in front of him.Running to get a dry towel from the kitchen, she immediately handed it to him.

He bowed to thank her as well as to apologise for making the floor wet.

She signalled him to dry himself and take a seat inside while she grabbed a mop to dry the floor.

Hanging his jacket on the chair to dry,he dried his hair and wiped his face.Luckily, the jacket was able to keep his short dry and his pants were only wet at the bottom.

Slumping into the seat,he let out a deep sigh as the sound of raindrops hitting the windows played louder than the soft music indoors.

Looking out of the window,he watch the raindrops race each other down the frame, one after another. It seemed like the heavy rain was not going to stop any time soon.

"The rain is heavy.Even with an umbrella you'll still get drenched. You can call a cab but it'll be quite difficult as the main road is a distance from here and also their probably very busy.I suggest you stay here for a while and wait till it isn't pouring that heavily."

She gave him a suggestion, keeping the mop back.He let out another sigh, frustrated about the weather.

"Perhaps you would like to order something while you wait?"

Shyly offering the menu, she placed it on the counter, sliding towards him.

"I'll just get something warm, like coffee or something."

He replied, shuddering a little due to the coldness from indoors blowing against his still wet self, sending chills all over his body.

The icy feeling, made his nose twitch, resulting to a sneeze.

"Of course!One hot americano?"

He nodded.

"I'll leave the menu here if you want to take a look at it."

With that, she hurriedly took her leave, heading to the kitchen at the back.

Jake took the chance to look around his surroundings.

To be honest,he had no clue where he was.The street outside was unfamiliar and the shops around it was all closed from what he remembered as he ran, seeking for shelter.

His eyes wondered around and he came to a conclusion that he was in a cafe.

That reminded him of earlier today, where he had visited a cafe as well. However, things did not go the way he wanted.

He had went on a date with his girlfriend.

"Shall we go to watch a movie next Wednesday? Its been a while since we went there together also we couldn't go last week."

His girlfriend had suggested.

"My soccer practice was moved to Wednesday, remember?"

He reminded her.

Her smile disappeared as she heard his answer.

"Then,what about Saturday?You're free right?"

She smiled again, hoping to get a yes this time.

"I agreed to hang out with the boys on Saturday."

"Oh I see."

Was all she said.It wasn't the first time this happened.

She had tried to organise events, suggesting dates to keep up with their relationship but most of them never happened.

Jake had other plans with his friends and other stuff he needed to tend to.She understood that but she couldn't help but feel that perhaps now wasn't the best time.

"Jake"

She fiddled with her hands, uncertain about whether to say it.

"Yeah?"

"Maybe...we should take a break."

That was her last words to him before leaving the cafe.

And because of that,Jake was left alone.

Afterwards,he reflected on himself and blamed his behaviour. He loved her a lot but I guess he never really showed her that love.

Does she want to break up?

No,she said take a break not break up.That means just taking some time away from this relationship and spending time alone.Right?

Jake thought to himself. He couldn't afford to lose her,she was precious.

But what could he do,he had other things to worry about as well.Perhaps he was also a bit harsh on his tone and words that hurt her,but he didn't really know,to caught up with himself.

Been kind of depressed lately like this chapter.I feel like I'm in a slump.Trying to be positive but don't want to be toxic positivity...my confidence level dropped and I'm just sad:(

There's still hope right?
