A/N: I know I said that Know You was my last one shot in the meantime. However, I uncovered my outline for this two-part one shot (lol) and I decided to get over it and write it. I don't know when Part 2 will be posted since I have academic deadlines to beat. xx

Epiphany: Tears

Part 1 of 2

Third Person's POV

The clock struck twelve and the sun has risen at its highest. On the well-renowned ARMY Academy, the bell's loud ring resonated across the halls. It signaled the end of morning periods and the start of an hour lunch break. Students, dressed in their impeccable uniforms, scurried towards the cafeteria. Poise forgotten for a lunch break is also a time of war among students. It can't be helped since there are over 700 students enrolled in the academy and only 50 tables available in the cafeteria.

As everyone dashed across corridors to race towards the cafeteria, the blond-haired boy looked peculiar as he headed towards the opposite direction. He didn't care about the curious looks though. He didn't even care about the admiring gazes of girls and their hushed whispers. His focus was only on the music blasting on his earphones.

Jeon Jungkook, upperclassmen, has always hated the chaos during every lunch break of class. He hates being trapped on the sweaty bodies of bustling students. He also hates the undecipherable noises that arise from the crazed crowds. He just hates it all. Usually, he would go out of campus and just hang around any place – be it a café, restaurant, arcade, etc. But a pesky girl has uploaded his sing and dance performance that was for their Music class. Due to that, his popularity has been increasing, and now, he's being flocked by strangers (mostly girls) when they spot him. That marked the start of Jungkook being allergic to public places.

"Perfect," Jungkook muttered to himself, a small smile escaping his lips. His eyes roamed around the desolated library and for the first time, he had felt tremendous relief to be inside one. "It may be boring but at least it's peaceful."

Without further ado, Jungkook dumped his backpack on the corner-most seat. He stretched his tired limbs and settled on one chair before fishing his laptop out of his bag. Jungkook began playing Valorant to while away the time. It was supposed to be just another ordinary afternoon in the life of Jeon Jungkook but fate has a different plan.

It was in the mid of his second game when the music playing on his earphones came to an end. It was just a two-second transitional silence but it was enough for Jungkook to pick up noise. Noise that signals that he wasn't alone in the library.

Who in the world would be here at lunchtime? What a weirdo.

Curiosity got the better of him and he decided to check who it was. Slowly, he moved towards the shelf that was nearest to him. He was sure that the sound had come from there and so with movements as light as feather, he pushed several books aside to create a gap. He peeked through it but saw no one. His eyebrows furrowed as his curiosity heightened. Jungkook took one earphone out and stayed still like a statue.

Then there it was again, a very faint sound of a sob. It was so close to him and yet he still can't see anyone from across. His eyes landed on the floor and an idea crossed his mind. Silently, he crouched down and peeked through a gap once again.
