It had been two months since the death of his sensei. Choji, Ino and him even got the chance to avenge him. He had been busy since then, what with the Akatsuki wondering in the Land of Fire. And since then Lady Tsunade has had high ranked Shinobi search the entire Land of Fire for the Akatsuki. But since then no Akatsuki has been spotted. He had even moved back to his parent's. Two months? Time had flown by. How could so much have happened in a span of just two months? He pondered.
But it hasn't only been two months since the death Asuma, it's been two months without even seeing a glimpse of her. As much as he hated it, he'd often wonder how she's doing and even wonder if she's still in the village. But given what he said, it wouldn't be a surprise to him if she did leave.
After all he did tell her to leave. He still remembered that day very well, he remembered exactly what he said to her. He couldn't help but feel regretful, but she was the one who ended things wasn't she. And she didn't even say anything, she lied to him. So why feel this way? With little free time he'd get, he'd debate if he should see her or not, that is if she's still in the village. He missed her, so much as it would reach a point where he'd mistake her for somebody. But nonetheless he was still angry.
As for her, there was no reason to be here anymore and with the Akatsuki now on the move, she had to go back to her home. He should be glad anyway, right? He did tell her to go. It was probably for the best anyway and she were to forget him, being far away as possible away from him would be best.
Still though, her feelings remained the same. She still loved him... If only things took a different turn, if only she took a leap of faith and let things run their course. She was hurt before, now it was her who hurt somebody else. All because she let her past control her future, all because she was only thinking about herself.
"I'm sorry, Shikamaru." She mentally muttered.
She'd packed all her belongings and was to head out at dawn. At least there was a bright side to all of this, she'd finally return back home and be with her family once more.
Dawn arrived and without wasting anytime, she showered and left.
She approached the village gate. She stopped in her tracks and looked back. Though, she was angry with him for the things he said but also feeling regret, she just wished she'd seen him one more time.
His day went on like usual, hectic and a drag, as he would say. "I'm so exhausted." He said to himself. He was half way to his parent's house. This would be another day without seeing her, Ino and Choji often encouraged him to go and see her but as always he went against it. Everyday he missed her even more than he did the previous day but why would he want to see her anyway? She's the one who dumped him and didn't even spare him any details as to why she did it.
But then again, is that really why he hasn't gone to her place? at least find out how she's doing. No, that's not it. Maybe it's about time he out his pride aside and just go for it. So he did, without a second to waste he dashed to her apartment.
He knocked.
"Temari!" He called out.
"She's moved out." An old lady says, standing in front of her door.
"She.. moved out?"
"Yes. Earlier today. It's a shame, she was a nice, young girl." And she opens her apartment door and enters.
He missed her just by a couple of hours, all this time he had the chance and when he finally comes, she's gone.
How could she leave like that though? Without saying anything not even at least a goodbye. It wasn't really a surprise though, it's not like it wasn't the first time she did something without saying anything. He couldn't help but feel some resentment towards her for it. But then again he did tell her to leave. Maybe it was best this way.
But nonetheless he just wished he had seen her one last time.

As it stands, this is the last part of this part of this story(haha). It didn't really end the way i envisioned it in the beginning but it's close enough. I really enjoyed writing this story, I'm sure you did too(*laughs nervously*).

A sequel is coming soon, which will take place after the 4th Great Ninja War(Boruto: Naruto Next Generations) I'll announce it right here. In the meantime;
