He couldn't catch any sleep, no matter how much he tried. He'd tried everything he could, he tossed and turned trying every sleeping position he knew but still no sleep. But before he'd tried wearing himself out by doing a little shuriken and kunai training and then go back to bed but still no sleep came, not even a yawn. What a drag! He thought. But how could he catch any sleep after what happened. Again, the blond Kunoichi of the desert was on his mind interrupting him from getting good night rest he so desperately needed.
But he'd been wondering since then why she reacted the way she did, it was not his intent to madden her like that. He just simply asked a question. But it seemed like it was a touchy subject for her. Why? All he wanted to know was why she was here but to her it must've appeared as if he was insinuating that she was lying to him. Maybe to her it seemed like he was insinuating that she's here to gather intel about the Leaf on behalf of her village so they can attack it. No, that couldn't have been it, surely she wasn't thinking that. Was she? He questioned. The Leaf village and the Sand village became one years ago, they became allied villages years ago so they wouldn't do that. It wouldn't make any sense.
It was clear she was keeping something from him but who was he to pry in Temari's business? If she doesn't want to tell him then he should respect that.
"How annoying." He thought.
Speculating nonsense in his head. Whatever it is that she didn't want him to know was none of his business therefore he shouldn't have done what he'd done. It was not his intention to offend her but he did anyway, he didn't want any bad blood between them especially knowing what he felt for her so he decided; He'd apologize for his wrongdoing, hopefully she won't hit him first. He laughed at the thought and eventually got some sleep.
The following day he woke up and it was already raining a little outside. He got out of his comfy and warm bed and did his usual morning routine.
Fortunately it wasn't raining a lot so he was able to walk in it just fine. The streets weren't filled with a lot of people like when it isn't raining, just some here and there. He wasn't sure as to where she was staying considering he'd never visited her before since her arrival here but he had an idea where it is she could be staying. He felt like an idiot smiling about how she'd told him not to slack off.
It didn't take him all that long to arrive to a small building comprised of different apartments. He tried every door and he finally made it to the last one.
He knew she was on the other side of the door. He hesitated to knock questioning if whether this was a good idea or not. What if she didn't want to see him? What if she's going to pound him to dust before he even gets the chance to talk? No, he has to do this, he thought. It didn't matter what she does as long as she gives him a chance to clear things between them. His fist was just inches away from the door before it opened... And there she was, still as pretty as she always was.
They're eyes both widened. She was not expecting to see him, at her door. No doubt she was taken by surprise but that surprised face vanished as her brows met.
"What're you doing here?" She spat, the venom in her voice gave him the chills but he remained calm and collected.
"I came to talk to you." He responds.
"What about?" She asks still with the same tone.
"About what happened."
"I have nothing to say to you." She spits and attempts to close the door on him only be thwarted by his foot.
"I do." He says.
There was no point in trying to send him off. Normally she'd resort to physical measures when something like this happens but she just didn't have the energy for it. And as annoyed as she was by his sight, at the same time she was glad to see him. Eventually she let him in as it was obvious he had no intentions of leaving.
She continued giving him the annoyed look.
"About yesterday -"
"What about it?" She cuts him off.
"I didn't mean to call you a liar."
"So you admit that you did?" She says, and immediately followed by tension forming between them.
"That's not what I'm saying." He defends.
"Then what are you saying?"
"I'm just trying to apologize for making you feel that way. I wasn't saying you're a liar or that you're lying. I just wanted to know what I thought you weren't telling me which was none of my business anyway. I was only concerned about you."
Why do you care so much about me anyway?" She asks, now calm and the livid expression now gone.
He thought about what he'd say as a response but nothing really came to mind. Maybe it was time he told the truth, to finally do something about what he's feeling for her. He could only hope Ino and Choji were right and that he wouldn't regret what he was about to do.
"Because..." He pauses and draws near to her "I'm not heartless and..." He pauses again, drawing nearer and nearer
"What're you doing?" She asks as she takes each step back. She could feel the heat radiating from him.
He only gave her a silent reply and kept his eyes at level with hers. She let out a small gasp as her she felt her back against the wall, he placed his right arm on the wall, right above her head. She felt her heart race, suddenly the room getting hot as he brings face closer to hers. His nose practically in contact with hers. He diverted his eyes from hers to her lips.
"The truth is that..." He continued as he tilted his head and closed the gap between them. He crashed his lips against hers.
At this point nothing mattered except this moment. He felt her kiss him back, their lips battling for dominance.
She felt shockwaves throughout her entire body, his scent arousing her even more. It felt so right, so good. So swept up in passion, she gripped a part of his clothing as tight as she could.
They both felt it, the connection.
