Back To September Pt. 1

Red took in a few nervous breaths like she had been doing for the past hour, barely even taking a single sip of the coffee she ordered earlier. All she did with it is continuously stir a spoon while staring directly into it. "Alright, Red... You can do this... There's no backing out now that you're already here... Hell, why are you so nervous? You're only facing your ex that you haven't spoken to or even seen in years... Because you broke his heart so bad and feel really guilty about it... Oh, so that's why you're nervous..." She sighed, a frown appearing on her face as she slowly spaced out.

Tweek had been looking over to where she was every now and again, a worried expression on his face whenever he did. He decided to finally go to where she sat and check up on Red, sitting down on the chair in front of her. "Hey, Red... You do know that you're supposed to drink your coffee while it's hot, right?" He teased, a small smile on his face. "Otherwise, the flavor is not really that prominent when it's lukewarm..."

The redhead flinched once she heard Tweek's voice. "Hmm? Oh, Tweek! Hey!" She gave him a small smile back once she looked up to face him. "Yeah, I know it seems rather pointless and wasteful of me to order coffee and then not even drink it... I just badly needed a way to distract myself while waiting for... You know who..." She sighed as her smile faded, looking down at her coffee again.

He nodded, a more serious expression on his face. "I know, Red. You've been telling me all week about how nervous you were about meeting him today after how many years it's been since you two have even seen each other..." Tweek took in a deep breath, putting his hand on top of Red's. "But what you never told me is why exactly are you doing this? Because I don't really understand what reason you could have to do this... I mean, I support your choices and all that as your friend. But, as your friend again, it is a little bit concerning, Red..."

The girl smiled at this, looking back up at the blonde once more. "Thanks for the concern, Tweek. I can always count on such a great friend like you..." She closed her eyes and let out a deep exhale. "And well, I'm doing this because I decided that it's finally time to do the right thing. Which is, after all these years..." Red let out another sigh as she looked down at the floor. "Finally apologize to Kevin for the pain I caused him years ago..."

Tweek gave her a more sad smile, gently patting her hand. "And that's why I look up to you sometimes, Red... Always thinking about doing the right thing..." Then he frowned again. "But what if he doesn't show up, by the way? What time exactly did you ask him to meet you here? Because if it's when you showed up, he's been making you wait for almost an hour now..."

"Oh, he will show up... I have a feeling that he will..." Red returned the sad smile he gave her. "I just came in an hour early because I knew that if I went at the same time that I told him, I would be too nervous to actually come here, hesitate going out the door and then just don't come at all. Then at home, I would just be thinking about all these different types of scenarios of when we-" She pauses, flinching when she heard the bell at the entrance ring. "Finally meet again..." The redhead sighed, taking in deep breaths.

"Well, he's here now, Red... You two are going to meet now... No going back on this..." The blonde leaned slightly to look over at Kevin at the entrance, standing up from where he sat then patting Red on the shoulder. "Good luck, Red... I know you can do this." He gave her a reassuring smile before walking over to Kevin and pointing him to where Red sat, walking to the counter and watching from afar.

Red badly wanted to turn around to look at Kevin but at the same time, she was too petrified by what she thought Kevin was going to say or do to be able to do so. She grabbed the spoon that was in her coffee cup and started shaking terribly while stirring her coffee, her nerves going crazy at the thought of meeting Kevin again after all these years.
