Let's Meet Up In The Next Life, Okay? (Fantasy AU)

Okay, this started as a simple idea I got from Sailor Moon and shit but then it turned into something more from that and I am actually pretty proud of what I wrote! Might be one of my favorite oneshots to write for Revin yet! So much so that I wanna make a short story including the rest of their personas as their next lives and their regular selves as the current versions of them.

But of course, that would take forever to be complete but it's a cool idea, right?

Kevin groaned in pain as he stumbled and fell to his knees on the way to where the rest of his people were seeking refuge in. After a long and hard fought battle against Leslie and her army, his army had decided that the best course of action was to retreat for now. As no matter what they did, the enemy they were facing was just far too strong for them to win against. "Ugh... You guys... All go on ahead... I'll catch up..." He was out of breath from running away from battle so long and he badly wanted to change into his dragon form to just easily get himself and his army to the shelter but he had taken too much damage in battle to do so. The male then tried to get up again but he failed to do so, stumbling once again.

Red immediately stopped right in her tracks and turned to face him as soon as she heard him land onto the ground, hissing at the own pain she felt from what happened at the battle. "Yeah, no... Kev, you know that the last thing I'll be doing is leaving you behind, right?" She puts her battle axe behind her back before rushing towards Kevin, putting his arm over her shoulder. "Okay, here we go... One, two, three!" The girl made a struggling noise as she slowly stood up while lifting Kevin up.

The male loudly groaned at this, trying his best to get out of her hold but due to the injuries he got from battle, he did not have enough strength to even attempt to push her away. "Damnit, Red! I just told you that you should go on ahead and I would just catch up! Come on! I'll be fine, really! Go on!" He protested then sighed.

The redhead shook her head in response, starting to make her way towards the shelter. "Like I just said, Kev... The last thing I want to be doing is leaving you behind..." She then let out another hiss of pain when her injured leg gave out, forcing her to limp and walk more slowly. "Shit! Damnit!" Red yelled out in pain. "I usually am able carry you with ease! But all that fighting really left a number on me..." She let out another hiss of pain before she started to head towards the shelter again, this time she was walking with a slight limp. "Plus, I can't really leave you behind when you're like this, Kev... Especially with Leslie's army behind us, after all..."

Kevin let out a loud scoff at her words, rolling his eyes. "You're one to talk, Red! Look at you! Your injuries are far worse than mine! Because not only were you fighting off Leslie's army with all your strength, you were also always just rushing through the battlefield towards me with all your strength for some strange reason! Tch! Anyway, back to the state of you, this further supports what I just said! Which is the fact that it is clearly best that you go ahead and get yourself fixed up for those injuries! I would have been fine as the shelter isn't that much further! But no, instead... You have decided to stay with me and carry me back to the shelter with a limp!"

The girl's face had a look of determination on it as she focused on looking ahead for the shelter before sighing. "That "strange reason" I was rushing towards you during battle was so I could protect you... You know, because I love you? And the last thing I want for you is to die... So, a simple "thank you for saving my life, Red..." would have sufficed, you know..." She groaned when she paused on walking for a bit before starting her slow pace on walking again. "And thank you for pointing out my injuries that I can clearly feel right now! It wasn't needed but I sure do appreciate it!" Red gave him a sarcastic smile then it was immediately followed by her letting out another noise of pain.
