Everything about Mina was perfect in your eyes. She was a talented dancer, a talented singer, she was drop dead gorgeous, and she was one of the most kind people you had ever met in your entire life. You seriously were beginning to believe that she had no faults, that God had let an angel slip out of heaven on accident.
But you should have known that even Myoui Mina can't be perfectly perfect.
While you and Mina had spent Christmases together before, you usually procrastinated gift buying until the last minute, meaning you rushed to wrap all your gifts away from prying eyes, including Mina's. But this year you had gotten your shopping done early and even wrapped Mina's gift already, so you had suggested the two of you spend some time wrapping presents together.
Mina had been more than thrilled about the idea. She loved spending time with you, and being an idol meant she didn't always have a whole lot of time, so she cherished everything you did together even if it is just wrapping Christmas presents.
With some Christmas music blasting in the background, the two of you turned your living room into a workshop. Numerous rolls of tape were scattered on the floor, along with different wrapping papers, bows, and ribbons.
"Do you think I should wrap Jeongyeon's present with the deer wrapping paper or the penguin wrapping paper?" You asked as you held the two rolls up. Mina chuckled, rolling her eyes playfully,
"I think Jeongyeon will appreciate it no matter what the pattern is. But, I think the penguin wrapping paper is much more her style," Mina relinquished upon seeing your pouty lips and puppy dog eyes. With a grateful smile you began to get to work measuring the box and cutting the right amount of wrapping.
You were so invested in making Jeongyeon's present look fabulous that you barely noticed that Mina had been working on wrapping the same box for about 15 minutes. With a raised eyebrow, you halted your ribbon tying to look at her.
"Mina? What's up?" Mina's head shot up, staring at you with wide eyes like she had just gotten caught doing something she wasn't supposed to be doing.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean you've been trying to wrap that same gift for a while now. Is something wrong? Is the tape not sticking?" Mina's light complexion darkened with a pink hue as you kept talking. Her cheeks did not go unnoticed, and that's when the light bulb finally went off in your head.
"You don't know how to wrap a gift, do you?" Your question was confirmed as Mina pouted at you, obviously not expecting you to guess her secret so fast. You smiled at her playfully, before moving to sit next to her.
"How have you never wrapped a gift? I've opened wrapped gifts from you!"
"I usually get them wrapped when I buy them! And anything I can't I always put in a bag. I don't know, I just never learned," Mina explained. You smiled at how cute she was with her little pout, before moving her paper and gift in front of you.
"Then I guess I'll have to help, now won't I? Here, I'll show you what to do." Mina watched with eager eyes as you began the process of wrapping the present. She took in the way you folded the corners, how you taped everything up, and most importantly how you emphasized that presentation was everything.
"If the wrapping doesn't look super good, don't worry about it! You can just put some ribbon and bow on it and no one will even notice!" You exclaimed, handing the neatly wrapped box to her. Mina held it in her eyes, eyes sparkling with amazement at how you were able to do it so neatly. Looking back at you, you couldn't help but notice a little sparkle of embarrassment in her eyes.
"I feel kind of silly for not knowing how to wrap a present. It feels like such a basic skill," Mina said, her voice soft. You stared at her adoringly, before pressing a kiss to her forehead.
"Hey, there are plenty of basic things I don't know how to do. I didn't know how to make ramen that wasn't in a cup til I was 20, Mina. But now, you know and you also have your super awesome significant other to help you!" You said, smile wide. Mina perked up at your statement, already feeling a little better. She was always amazed at how you could do that, make her feel so much better with just your words. She guessed that's what love does.
After giving her one last forehead kiss, you moved back to your own pile of gifts, humming along to the music as you began to work. Mina watched you as she tackled her own pile, albeit a little slower.
Her eyes never strayed from you for long, and even if you were none the wiser, she didn't mind. Because while she might be perfect to you, you were perfectly perfect for her.
