Bernard was in his room talking on the phone to Alexis for their date night, tonight.
"Yes, I got reservation for two, tonight. Okay. I'll see you, then, babe." Bernard said as he hangs up the phone.
He looks in his drawer and found his handcraft friendship necklace that he build with Alexis when they use to play at the creek. He picks it up and remembers the memories of it. Craig walks in.
"Bernard?" Craig said.
"Huh? Oh, it's you, Craig. I just got off the phone with Alexis. Got a dinner date, tonight." Bernard said while hiding his friendship necklace.
"Well, I guess my plan worked. You and Alexis are back together." Craig said.
"Yep. We're back together." Bernard said.
"Listen, Bernard. I never got a chance to say thank you for helping us. Quitting your summer reading. Having you drive me all the way to the city. Helping me save the creek and junk." Craig said.
"Actually, Craig, I'm the one who should be thanking you." Bernard said.
"Huh?" Craig said.
"You did me a big favor by dragging me in to this mess." Bernard said.
"I did?" Craig said.
"Yeah. You see, I didn't want to help just so I can get out of my summer reading or getting Alexis back, I-- I... did it because I wanted to help you and your friends and didn't want you to lose your childhood memory. I'd forgotten that. 'Til today." Bernard said while looking at his necklace.
A pebble was thrown at the window; Craig's friends are waiting for him outside.
"Come on, Craig!" J.P. said.
"Yeah, the creek awaits!" Kelsey said as Mortimor chirps.
"I'll be there in a second, guys!" Craig said.
"Hey, it's a gorgeous summer day and your pals are waiting. Go have some fun being a kid while you can... Craiggy Boy." Bernard said.
"You got it... Bookworm Bernard." Craig said as Bernard smiles friendly.
Craig goes outside with his friend as they head towards the creek and Bernard puts on his handcraft necklace. But Bernard stuck his head out of the window and remind Craig about something.
"But don't forget! You owe me gas money! That's a total of $30.56!" Bernard said.
"Hey, My allowance is a long way off!" Craig said.
Bernard smiles at Craig and his friends, and looks at his friendship necklace as Craig, J.P., Kelsey and Mortimor enjoy the rest of summer by returning to creek.
The End.
