"You shouldn't have spoken to Lorelei like that."

I squeezed my eyes shut and laid the cutlery on the plate when Lorelei's name got mentioned. My mood last night was unstable, and now that I'm doing good, Paris recounts what happened on the club. I don't really want to talk about it since it would put me in such a bad mood. It's just a petty fight that Lorelei started.

"Talking about what happened last night would put me in a bad position, so please stop mentioning her name," I said quietly and continued eating my food. I don't want to fight with him anymore. It wasn't even me who started being aggressive, it's Lorelei.

"You should apologize to your sister."

"I don't apologize for something I didn't do, Hon." I'm saving my apologies for the things I only did, not the other way around. It was Lorelei who pushed me through my limits. She's the one who should apologize, not me. Over my dead body, I will never say sorry.

We are just eating, when suddenly Paris' phone rings. He stood up and went on the living room to check who's calling. I was not about to mind his business on the phone, but my ears eavesdrop when he answered the call.

"Hello, Trisha," Paris started the conversation. He mentioned that woman's name without hesitation, but why did I stop moving? I should not eavesdrop on their conversation because it's rude. I'm sure it's about the cases they are holding. There's no malice at all.

Naging mabilis lang ang usapan nila. Bumalik si Paris sa hapag-kainan at tinuloy ang pagkain niya. Hindi naman mapigilan ng mga mata ko ang sumilip sa gawi niya.

"Gaaano katagal mo ng kasama si Trisha sa trabaho?" Tanong ko sa kanya.

"Kalilipat niya lang last year," sagot ni Paris kaya napatango ako. Wala namang masama kung magtatanong ako tungkol kay Trisha, hindi ba?

"She just moved last year, and yet you two are already close to each other. After all, that's a good thing, unlike before that it takes years to be that close to you." He's an introverted person. In the mortuary, he prefers working alone instead of having accompanied. But it looks like things were doing good in his social life. I'm happy about the improvements. People say that he had a bad personality, but they can't never deny that he's excellent when it comes to his work.

"I have no choice. She's our toxicologist, so sometimes I run to her to do some test."

"She has your back pala when it comes to biology and chemistry," I uttered with a smile.

"Yeah... Trisha is a great help when I do autopsies." She's just a colleague of my husband, so I should stop thinking about useless things because it would imply that I have no trust in him. He's not doing anything wrong; therefore, I must take this thought wandering on my mind away from my system. It's just giving me stress.

Hindi nagtagal ay natapos na kaming kumain. Naghahanda na si Paris sa pagpasok habang ako naman ay naghuhugas lang ng mga pinggan. Dito lang naman ako sa bahay ngayon dahil pinakiusapan ko si Kristy na magpahinga muna kahit isang araw lang at mabuti na lang ay napapayag ko siya.
