"I'm just not sure what to say to him," Alexandria said, not even looking up from the paper she was writing on. It amazed Paul how she could have a full conversation while simultaneously scribbling onto the paper in front of her. He could never do that. To be fair, he wouldn't want to do that, but even if he did want to, he couldn't have.
"I vote that you don't say anything," Paul said with a shrug, and Alexandria frowned at him.
"You're no help," she muttered. "I want to fix things, Paul. George is my best mate. You know that."
Paul stared at Alexandria. He wondered why exactly she was so keen on repairing her relationship with George. Ever since she had shown up to shout at him on Saturday, they'd been spending time together every day, and he thought that she was enjoying it. Why did she need George if she had Paul?
Paul's feelings for Alexandria were quickly changing. Every time he looked at her now, he felt elated. There wasn't a single thing about her that he didn't notice. He loved it when her eyes would narrow at the paper she was writing on when she thought long and hard about where she wanted her newest project to go. He was never tense when they sat in silence because they were both always doing something. It was just better to work when someone was keeping you company. Paul knew that this was what Alexandria and George had done every time they were together, but he hadn't ever really understood what was so appealing about it.
Right now, Paul and Alexandria were both sat in a park after school.
Despite how uncomfortable it was, Alexandria's school uniform was keeping her warm enough as the wind blew around her. The past few days had been beautiful in Liverpool, but those days were quickly coming to an end, and now the sky was looking quite bruised. The two of them were beginning to wonder when the rain would start, though they didn't expect it to happen anytime soon. It certainly wouldn't start while they were here.
"Well, how about you just go up to him and say, 'Hey, mate, sorry I made you so livid. I just want you to know that you're overreacting and I need you to forgive me.'"
"Right, that'll go over well," Alexandria said with a distinct eye roll. "Thanks for your everlasting wisdom, McCartney. I'm not sure what I would do without it."
Paul grinned and pretended to bow, just as much as he could when he sat down with an acoustic guitar on his lap. Alexandria caught her eyes flicking down to Paul's lips as he smiled, purely because his smile was about the most precious thing she had ever seen.
"Ready for me to be your first kiss, Alex?" Paul teased when he noticed where her gaze was traveling to, puckering his lips sarcastically.
"Not particularly," Alexandria responded. "I don't think I will ever get there. Sorry." She shrugged, there was a moment where they both grinned at each other, and Paul wondered what it was that she was thinking at the moment. Was she thinking about him just as much as he was thinking about her?
