The screeching sound of tires could be heard around the room.
God, why did Mattie always have to be so protective? He wasn't with Maddie. It just wasn't fair!
Amelia glanced out the window......and almost immediately winced.
Guess the Tylenol just hadn't kicked in yet.
Ugh.
But ignoring her pounding headache, Amelia looked at the window and spotted Mattie's familiar navy blue Sedan.
Thank God! Gil was just acting so weird. Maybe she should give him a day and then talk about this..... "mess."
Also, she really wanted a shower. Somehow sleeping in a 20ish year old's beer stained bed hadn't been the cleanest thing.
Wait, on the topic of clean, had Gil been tested recently? Had they even wore a condom?
God, Amelia just couldn't remember.
Honk
Amelia jumped when she hear the honk.
Mattie must be pretty impatient, huh.
Amelia forced herself out of the chair, and walked to the, thankfully, unlocked door.
The first thing Amelia noticed was how sunny it was. Did someone hate her or something?
The next thing she noticed, this was probably more important, was the angry overprotective, worrywart of a brother, standing in front of his car with a scowl that could make Arthur a little apprehensive.
Amelia really did not want to deal with this today.
Line Break
"Where were you, Amelia?!"
Amelia opened her mouth, about to reply, but before she could, Mattie continued on his rant.
"What if you had gone missing? What would I have told the police?! I have no idea where my sister was!"
Madeline gave a long glance at Amelia. Amelia could see the worry in her eyes.
"You didn't even tell us where you were going! One minute, my drunk sister was off to my side, but the next, she was nowhere to be found!"
Yeah, that hadn't been cool drunk Amelia! Why didn't you tell Mattie that you saw a nice looking piece of meat. At least you wouldn't have to sit here listening to his tirade.
Amelia almost let out an audible side, when she saw a familiar street, but she kept it in, just barely.
"Yeah, yeah, Mattie I'll totally tell you who I sleep with next time."
Amelia gleefully said, relishing in Matthew's look of disgust.
Before her older brother could complain to her again, Amelia jumped out of the car and raced to her house.
She could here a certain car slam on its brakes and a window open.
Fortunately for her, she had already opened the front door.
