Alina managed to do it. Ridding the world of the threat of the Fold, but at what cost when she wasn't able to rid the world of the Darkling? Without her amplifiers she was merely powerless, left to the mercy of his hands. She has lost her best frien...

Ah, Zoya... refreshing.
Truth be told, I actually have never been more thankful to be met with her choice of vocabulary. Just as long as I don't hear any more apologies. She walked towards me, shoulders squared like a soldier with her summoner blue kefta floating behind her. I was pulled into a hug by her, and her thick raven hair threatened to choke me. As surprised as I was, I waste no time wrapping my arms around her. The smell of gardenias and cold winds from her hair clings to me, even after she step away. We pulled apart and walked to the table of Summoners.
Great. Everyone is separated again.
An army torn into asunder once more.
As my chair was pulled out by one of the servants, Zoya shot me a glance, to which I replied by rolling my eyes.
Zoya took a breath before I was even comfortable in my chair.
"Not to sound small-talkish, because I despise that, but I genuinely mean how have things been?" Zoya asked. She was never one to beat around the bush.
"I must say it has been an eventful day and a- is something wrong?" I looked around to see many faces looking at me with uncertainty, and I noticed Oprichniki standing at each door.
"What do you think? We are all just waiting for the Darkling's next move, I heard he was gonna declare himself king." Zoya's words made my face drop into a dreary expression as I recalled the agreement this morning between him and I. Less of an agreement and more of entrapment, really.
"That much is true." I said.
"It just makes me wonder if he will ever want a queen." Nadia interrupts from next to Zoya, poking her head into my view. I gave Zoya no time to scoff at Nadia's remark before I revealed what has been nagging me all day.
"Well he wasted no time with that."
Zoya spat out her drink, some even coming out of her nose. How the hell does she even manage to make that look beautiful?
"Wha-" She starts, choking on her drink, within the series od sputtering I could make out her words "-the absolute fuck?" This dragged the attention of the room. I grew stiff as my face reddened, soaking in the second hand embarrassment. Zoya took a napkin to her nose and quickly recovered as Nadia lightly patted her back. Now recovered, Zoya made quick work of the observing grisha and dispersed the stares of the crowd in a way only she could.
"Staring is a pervert's sport you know!"
Everyone immediately turned back to resume their eating and conversations.
She took the napkin and her hand to cover the side of her face so no one would read her lips.
"You're getting married!?" She whispered fiercely.
