"Man, this is weird." After class, I'm heading straight home. When I was in middle school, I always went directly to the gym once the dismissal bell rung. Now, I don't have anything to do after school since I'm no longer playing. I still haven't decided which club I'll join considering I don't have other hobbies other than volleyball.
As a volleyball rolled on my feet, I came to a halt on my walk. 'I really miss playing since I'm seeing a volleyball right now.' I let out a sigh. "Excuse me!" I turned to my right, where the shout came from. "Would you mind passing it here?" The little boy motioned. Other kids were waiting near the net when I peered beyond him. I took another look at the ball before picking it up. "It's real." What a bitter feeling.
Because my hair was long, I used to have to tie it up before exercising. Every time we had a condition training, I recall feeling my muscle burn. I miss the sting on my arms whenever I receive a ball. When I finish a flawless set for the spikers, I get that pleasant sensation. I truly miss being able to play. I threw the ball up in the air and tossed it to the kid earlier, with a sorrowful expression on my face. It was perfect. "Wow, Onee-san, that was a nice pass. Thank you very much." He waved, and I waved back.
I decided to remain and watch them play for a while. All I have to say is that they're playing terrible. That was mean. "Y/n, you started there as well." I gave myself an internal lecture. "Don't forget you were terrible at it as well." Beginners are usually terrible at whatever they are about to start. That is why the term "practice" exists. During middle school, I became one of the volleyball prodigies thanks to hard work and talent. So, I shouldn't pass judgment on them simply because they're not very good at it.
"Have you lost your marbles?" Tsukishima-kun asked sarcastically. "You're talking to yourself." I rolled my eyes and scowled. "I think I am, 'cause I hear slenderman talking." I sassed him, and he simply tsked back. "What? Is that it?" I wondered out loud, mockingly. "Just a tsk."
We both divert our gaze to the children who are attempting to volley the ball. "They're terrible," he eventually said after a few awkward seconds of silence. I chuckled, but I agreed with him. "You should teach them a few tricks,". I suggested, nudging his side with my elbow. "Do it on your own." He protested. "Between us, I'm not the Volleyball player." This slacker giant. When I didn't get a response, I faced him and noticed he was already gazing at me. "What?" I asked. "Tell me," I demanded. "You can't just stare and not say anything."
"Come on. What was it?" I questioned once more. "Shut up,"
