"Papa, please drive more quickly. I'm worried I'll be late." I whined. "I told you to get up the first time I woke you, but you didn't, and now you're complaining about being late." With a shake of his head, he expressed his dissatisfaction with the situation. I didn't wake up the first time because he woke me up earlier than I had set my alarm for. The problem is that my alarm clock was set for PM rather than AM, thus I awoke later than I should have. "You're driving like a senior citizen." I grumbled once more. "This is the standard speed. We could get into trouble if I speed up much more."

I just sat in my seat and gazed out the window since there was nothing else to do. I had already informed Shimizu-senpai and Takeda-sensei that I would be late, and Shimizu-senpai assured me that she would be fine because she have Hitoka with her. "I should've gone with them instead." I murmured. "And you kept them waiting because you were late?" I was struck by what he said. "Ha! You're right. Papa, thank you for driving me to Tokyo today." He merely chuckled as I gave him a thumbs up.

"Your mother informed me that your knee is improving, according to your doctor." My father spoke. "I don't want to get my hopes up, papa," I said dejectedly. My knees are examined once a month. The doctor said it may get better to the point where I might play again, but I don't want to put my hopes in something I know will let me down. I had previously overused my knees and was continually injuring them, and then that event occurred. So, it comes as no surprise to me that I won't be able to play indefinitely.

I turned to face my father after feeling a hand stroke my head. "You're going to play again. Your mother and I will make certain of it." When the light turned green, he returned his focus to driving. My parents went to great lengths to improve my knees so that I could play again. They encourage me and my brother to participate in volleyball. They provided us with everything we needed to perform at our best. That is why I am so thankful to have them as my parents. "Thank you, papa." He gave me a kind grin.

"We're almost there. Do you want me to accompany you inside?" I shook my head. "No, thanks. You have somewhere else to be, after all." I stated. Papa volunteered to drive me to Tokyo since he needed to attend to some business there. I accompanied him not because I didn't want to be stuck in a bus with a bunch of rowdy boys, but because I knew how protective this man can be. It's not my first visit; in fact, the hospital where I get my checkup is located in Tokyo. As a result, I get to come here once a month.

"And we are here." Papa announced. "Not that late, huh." He parked the car beside our bus. "Thanks, papa. I'll message you guys so don't worry that much." I kissed his check before getting out the car. I spotted Takeda-sensei and Coach Ukai entering a building so I went to walk towards them. "Y/n." I bowed at them and apologized for being late. "Don't worry about it. We just got here ourselves a few minutes ago." Takeda-sensei assured me. "The gym's that way. We're going to meet Nekoma's coach first. So, you go on ahead." I said my thanks before going to the direction Coach Ukai pointed.

I opened the door and attracted the attention of the players in the nearby. A player from another school asked, "Are you from Karasuno?" "Yes, I'm one of their managers." I responded. He pointed at where the Karasuno was doing their warm ups, so I thanked him and went towards the team. Tsukishima-san spotted me halfway there and went over to assist me with my luggage. "Thanks." I said and looked around the gym while following him.

"You're late." He stated. "I set my alarm clock incorrectly." I let out a sigh. "Well, we've only just arrived, so don't get too worked up. We also have a match with Furukodani in a few minutes, so be ready." I gave a nod. When we got close to the team, I greeted them. "Y/n's here!" Nishinoya-senpai cheered. My attention was then stolen when I heard a wail from across the gym. "You have three managers? Ryu, you're really blessed." A guy with a mohawk sobbed. "Is he okay?" I inquire. "Don't worry about him." Suga-senpai chuckled.

I placed my luggage next to theirs and walked to Hitoka and Shimizu-senpai to assist them in preparing the items the guys would need. "Hitoka-chan, Shimizu-senpai. G good afternoon." I greeted. "We're actually done with the preparations. Just get your notepad ready for when the game begins." I agreed and followed Shimizu-instructions. senpai's I was going to take a seat when I heard my name called. "Right Y/n?" Tsukishima-kun had inquired. "Right, what? I'm not sure what-" He softly drew me closer to the boys and pushed me towards the ball cart. "Coach hasn't arrived yet, so kindly help us with our receives." He gave a reason. He responded with a nod when I pointed to myself for confirmation. "Are you sure Y/n could do this?" Daichi-senpai expressed his uncertainty. "She's capable of doing the task. After all, she was a volleyball player." Tsukishima-kun insisted, pushing me to the opposite side while towing the volleyball cart.

"How did you figure out I was a volleyball player?" I enquired. "You shouldn't be concerned about that right now." He stated that and walked away, leaving me to fall in line with the rest of the team. "Are you sure you can do it?" Shimizu-senpai approached me and asked. I considered it while staring at my covered knee. I don't need to move, so I think it'll be fine. I gave her a nod and requested a ball.

When I indicated Daichi-senpai that I'd be starting, he crouched into a receiving position, still hesitant. It didn't bother me that the others were staring at me from their line. I've dealt with plenty of intimidating players before, and this isn't my first time playing, so I don't need to be nervous.

I tossed the ball and slammed it down to Daichi-senpai with just the proper amount of force. He, like the ones behind him, was taken aback. "Um, next?" Daichi-senpai awoke from his stupor and walked to the end of the line. Next up comes Tanaka-senpai, who appears to be hesitant but he still crouched down. I tossed the ball and slammed it into Tanaka-senpai with the same amount of force, and he, like Daichi-senpai, was dumbfounded. "If you guys keep stalling, we'll lose time." Shimizu-senpai said.

I did the same thing to everyone else, but because Nishinoya-senpai was the libero, I used more force on him. "Wow, Y/n-chan, that was incredible." Nishinoya-senpai complemented me. This is quite nice. The sting that I feel whenever I spike a ball, however my arm is getting tired from the spiking I've done. "I had no idea you could play, Y/n." Coach Ukai said. I didn't notice he was already here. "You may continue it, Y/n." He said when I was ready to step aside to allow him to finish the work. I nodded and grinned shyly.

"She seemed to be having a good time. Good work, Tsukki." As she spiked another ball, he studied her glowing figure. She appeared to be overjoyed. The way her eyes twinkle and a small smile on her lips made him feel tingles in his tummy. He knows. "Shut up, Yamaguchi."
