"Ya alone?"
"I'd feel a lot better without a crossbow aimed at my forehead."
"Said 'r ya alone?"
"Yes"
"Shouldn't be"
"Why? Because i'm a woman?"
"Nah. Being alone gets ya killed"

"One way or another" -Harlow Kennedy Lee
Theo had the tube removed from his oesophagus a day ago. He was now breathing on his own and could speak a few words every now and then.
I hadn't left his side in the watchtower since I'd brought him up here. My eyes were constantly watching his little chest rise up and down.
My wound had now been stitched. A total of 14 stitches. It's definitely going to scar.
A noise from the other side of the room caused my eyes to flicker from Theo over to the door of the watchtower. My body tensed, initially grabbing my knives waiting to see who it was.
Since Merle and I ran into those people back at the veterinary college I'd been on edge I wasn't able to relax.
I instantly relaxed when a crossbow was thrown into the watchtower shortly followed by the redneck I'd grown to care about.
Just a little.
He sat down on the opposite side of the room to me, looking straight at my freshly stitched cut.
"Ya gonna tell me wha' happened, or wha'?" He called out gesturing to the wound.
Honestly I kind off forgot he never knew about the whole ordeal I just figured his brother would of told him already.
"Ran into trouble, that's all." I replied letting out a tired yawn.
Daryl scoffed, biting the inside of his cheek. "No shit. Gonna tell me?"
"Ran into a small group, about three guys, one girl."
I watched his lips turn into a tight line his scowl only deepening.
"Hit Merle and I in the back of the head. Tied us to a chair."
He was now chewing on his finger nails as he listened to me explain myself.
"Tried to get information out of us, when we both didn't give them the information they wanted. This happened." I finished gesturing to my eye.
Daryl stopped chewing on his nail. "They dead?"
"Three of them are, the girl cut us loose. She ran off before I could ask any questions."
Nodding his head, his whole demeanour quickly changed and I knew the next words that came out his mouth were going to be serious.
