FRIDAY NIGHT DINNER
HAYDEN looked between her mother and sister with a raised eyebrow as they stood stock still facing the front door of her grandparents home in Hartford "Either of you planning to ring the doorbell or are we eating out here in the cold?"
"It would be more pleasant." Lorelai mumbled, grimacing at the thought of dinner with her parents. She took a deep breath before ringing the door bell "Here goes."
Rory put on a smile as the large wooden door swung open "Hey Grandma."
"Hi." Hayden smiled nervously.
Emily smiled at the three "Well, you're right on time."
"Yeah, yeah, no traffic at all." Lorelai retorted politely as the three were led inside.
Emily continued to smile as she grabbed their coats "I can't tell you what a treat it is to have you girl's here."
"Oh, well, we're exited too."
Hayden mouthed the word 'liar' at her mother behind her grandmothers back.
Emily raised an eyebrow at her daughter's to-go coffee "Is that a collectors cup or can I throw it away for you?"
"Oh." Lorelai moved to toss it in the trash can.
"In the kitchen please." Emily sternly requested, making her daughter back track.
"Sorry."
"So." Emily grabbed each of her granddaughters hand's as she led them into the lounge "I want to hear all about Chilton."
"Well, we haven't actually started yet." Rory reminded the woman.
Emily smiled at her husband who didn't look up from his newspaper as they entered the room "Richard, look who's here."
He finally tore his eyes away and smiled at the twins "Hayden, Rory. You're both tall."
"I guess." Rory answered with a little shrug.
Hayden smiled "Guess we get it from you."
"Hi, dad." Lorelai greeted with a nervous smile as she walked in after getting rid of her cup,
He turned to her "Lorelai, your daughter's are tall."
"Oh, I know. It's freakish." Lorelai joked "We're thinking of having them studied at M.I.T."
